Terrific experience. I am a complete novice, so PrettyKid had to hold my hand through a lot of iterations. End result was a professional-sounding track

I had an excellent experience working with PRETTY KIDS. I was hoping to expanding my audience and went to him for help. I gave him a list of everything I needed and he worked with me to complete my song. I would highly recommend working with him.

Interview with PrettyKid

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: Giving clients a great end product is a must - but also giving clients a good time and having fun is also what I strive for.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Don't be scared to just ask. Even if you have no clue what you want to do with your track, I can work through the track with you and give you a path.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: I have worked with variety of artists ranging from Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, EDM, Rock, Classical, etc. I feel that I can be the most experimental when it comes to pop music or EDM, as those genres tend to be more erratic in trends.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: My strongest skill is my ability to adapt to trends. I try to stay up to date on what is popular right now, and predict what the future "metagame" will be in the upcoming years.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: Exactly how you imagine the song to be. Or if you want my own character in it, my character.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: If it is production work, I usually try to give a call to see what the client is looking for in the production. I prefer calling over messaging, because it's usually pretty tough to fully understand how you want the end product is without actually talking to each other. I also do this because I love meeting new creative artists.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: I work in-the box - meaning I use mainly MIDI. I run ableton 9, but I have had experiences using most of the industry-standard DAWs, such as FL Studio, Logic, Pro Tools, Reason, etc.

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: Most of my work is producing pre-composed music that clients give me. They usually have an idea of what they look for in the production. If they don't know how they want the song to be produced, I usually give them a couple line-of-actions and ideas to start something.

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: "Do you DJ?". No not all producers are DJs.
