I have won a Grammy Award (mixer - Kylie Minogue) and worked with some of the biggest names in pop and dance music, delivering 100s of productions, mixes and remixes to the world's best-known record labels. I'd love to work with your vision and ideas, bringing my experience to your music, songs and recordings.
I'll build on your production, demo, vocals or even start from scratch and your song will burst into life with a tight production and punchy mix. Click on "Contact" to tell me about your project and we can get started!
Highlights include official remixes for Katy Perry (x6), Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, Moby (x4), Emeli Sandé, Ellie Goulding, Nicole Scherzinger, Britney Spears and the Far East Movement.
Soft Cell's album "Happiness not included...", which I produced with the band, charted at no.7 in the UK album charts in May 2022.
As Manhattan Clique, I am well-known for my electro-based work with pioneering acts OMD, Erasure, Human League, Kim Wilde and The B-52's. We also co-wrote and produced Erasure frontman Andy Bell’s debut Electric Blue album. I love playing live, touring extensively playing keyboards with Soft Cell.
I am fortunate to work with some major International artists; a song with Swedish House Mafia and remixing for Mylène Farmer, the most successful French female artist of all time. Mylène's duet with Moby, "Slipping Away" (which we produced) spent several weeks at no.1 in the French singles chart. I also produced songs for German girlband Queensberry, including their highest-charting single "Hello" (peaked at no.4).
Oh...heard of "Jenny - Ruin Our Friendship" by Studio Killers? 500 million+ streams and certified US Gold. Still going strong...

I had the pleasure of working again with the exceptional producer Philip. This was our second collaboration, and just like the first time, Philip completely met my expectations. Despite the few details I could provide, he understood exactly what I envisioned and executed it perfectly. It’s always a joy to work with someone who can so intuitively realize the desires of their clients. I'm looking forward to our future projects!

I am the parent of a teen artist and navigating the music industry is difficult. It was important to engage an experienced professional person to remix a track for my daughter Sienna-Rose Jerak. From the start Philip was professional. The communication was honest, helpful, and Philip understood our vision and was able to bring the track to life. We asked for his advice, and input, and he added his creativity and insight as he understands what is radio worthy in pop currently.
Totally recommend. - check_circleVerified

A real 5-star-producer, Mixer, Master
This was my project No. 4 with Philip. He enriched it with his ideas to new heights beyond my expectations. I also strongly recommend to use his skills to mix and master the song. It's now ready to be released - phenomenal time to market for all the impatient people out there - like me. Looking forward to the next project.

Philip made a real No. 1 Hit! He is my go to and the reason why I started and continue to use sound better. Creative and articulate in the studio and in his Ideas every sound was exactly what I wished for with feeling and conviction. What else can I say but he is professional and delivers a professional product. I will forever be grateful. A fantastic job by Philip. Nailed the brief, brought so much life into the song, and added color and variation to suit and elevate above and beyond in all.

Interview with Philip Larsen
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop (with Logic), Genelecs, weighted USB keyboard, Juno-60 and a solar power generator.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Just get the best possible recording of whatever it is being played/sung and the rest falls into place much easier.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I co-produced and co-wrote a song "True Colours" which was featured on a major UK TV campaign promoting diversity and equality in all its forms. It was an honour to be part of something so forward thinking.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog for synths and as of recently, digital for quality of plug-ins, reverbs and ease of recall of mixes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will get it right for you.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making music in all its forms, satisfied customers and hearing tracks I have worked on, on the radio.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Having heard the original piece of music, I ask them what they are listening to at the moment and depending on response, would suggest some ideas for their mix/remix/production. That way, we start off in the right place.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Daft Punk. My inspiration musically & professionally.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: A musical approach to mixing and remixing. Plus having been fortunate to work on so many mixes, a quick turnaround!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to be as faithful to the original as possible, whilst keeping an eye on what will work commercially.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: A collection of gear started by my father in the 70s, being brought right up to date with my laptop and various mixing desks along the way. I wouldn't go without my Genelec speakers, on which I have mixed everything in the last 15 years and trust implicitly.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I grew up as a fan of Jeff Lynne and Jean-Michel Jarre was my neighbour. After that, 80s electronic music in all its forms became my inspiration (Kraftwerk, Human League, Vince Clarke) before the 90s kicked in and I threw myself into creating music for the clubs, in many forms. Time spent in Berlin with DJ producers such as Sven Vath and Paul van Dyk gave me the kick to really go for it myself.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically, my role falls between mixing and remixing. Usually clients come to me with well-formed ideas, that need a little push over the line. I have a lot of analogue gear and like to try and incorporate a sound or two from my studio in each mix. Only if it improves the original of course!
