Having won a Grammy Award (mixer - Kylie Minogue) and as one half of the remix team Manhattan Clique, I've been fortunate to work with some of the biggest names in pop and dance music, delivering 100s of mixes and remixes to the world's best-known record labels. Working with your vision and ideas, I'll bring that experience to your music and songs!
My remix highlights include remixes for Katy Perry (x5), Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, Moby (x4), Emeli Sandé, DJ Fresh, Ellie Goulding, Nicole Scherzinger (x2), Britney Spears, Example, Far East Movement and many more.
As Manhattan Clique, we are well known for our more electro-based work with pioneering heritage acts, including OMD, Human League, Soft Cell and The B-52's. We additionally co-wrote and produced Erasure frontman Andy Bell’s debut Electric Blue album and I had the pleasure of working with Kim Wilde on songs from her solo album "Come Out and Play".
As one half of M-3ox, our song "Beating Of My Heart" featured on the Swedish House Mafia's million-selling album "Until Now" and featured prominently in their global live show.
I have enjoyed working with some major artists in Europe, including remixing many songs for Mylene Farmer, the most successful French female artist of all time. Mylene's duet with Moby, "Slipping Away" (which we produced) spent several weeks at no.1 in the French singles chart. I also produced songs for German girlband Queensberry, including their highest charting single "Hello" (peak position no.4, 2009).

A technical wizard and consummate professional who's ears you can trust, whilst having the best outcome at heart for your project, always. I cannot recommend Philip highly enough. 10/10
Philip worked on a remix for a throwback electro pop song and turned into a beast of club banger. Can manage a multitude of different instruments with great melodic ear for chops. Excellent experience and look forward to the next one.

Loved working with Philip. He has worked on my favorite Andy Bell records. Lovely guy.
Philip is a true pro who knows what it takes to make a hit track shine! Will definitely be working with him again!
Philip was once again able to take my tracks and find just what was needed to make it stellar. For instance, I am not the greatest singer... the work he did to make my vocals sound professional and beyond not only made the song... it gives me confidence to keep working on my music.
Awesome job! Philip could translate all my wishes perfectly into the mix no matter how abstract it was until it was perfect. And is a great guy, totally recommend him!
Absolutely amazing! As usual!
This is the third track Philip has re-mixed for me. Again, a wonderful job. Thanks so much.
Philip was able to take something ordinary and make it spectacular. His patience and care to get the project in top shape put me at ease. He took the time to make subtle tweaks here and there just as much as he focused on the big things. The remix he did for us (Blondeking) was so amazing and sonically perfect!
This is the second time Philip has re-mixed a song for me. The first was a deep house dance track which he did a great job on - this new one - a completely different style, more of a ballad with an electronic arrangement and he nailed that too. He's very musical, very patient and just a great guy to trust your music with.
Philip is wonderful! He is professional, friendly, and very easy to work with! He transformed my track and made it better than I could have ever imagined! I'm grateful for his help! Highly recommended!
Philip approached this in a completely professional and friendly way. He made the changes he thought were necessary but also left alot of the track where he thought it didn't need attention. He gave the track a depth and sheen which it lacked previously and it was also reassuring that I had got it to a fairly developed state.
Philip gave us a superior remix to which he added a lot of creativity and new ideas. Everything was completed on time, and he was very supportive of our feedback through various revisions. We could not ask for anything more, and we will absolutely be working with Philip again!

Philip Larsen is amazing. This is the first time I have ever had one of my tracks remixed and now I want him to do loads more. The sound quality he achieves is really thrilling to hear and he is obviously a great musician.
Philip was a pleasure to work with. He is very talented and professional.
Was absolutely a pleasure working with Philip. He understood the essence of the song even though he had not worked much with Indian Music in the past. His attention to detail and constant endeavour to better the track is what makes his work stand out. Will definitely work with Philip again.

I met Philip in 1999 and was impressed by his remix of a Mary J Blidge song. Phil is a talented remixer and pop producer, fun and extremely pleasant person to work with. He did some remixes for some of the artists I worked with and still collaborating with me on some projects (e.g. recordingfestival.com).
An absolute gentleman...and a very, very talented gentleman

Interview with Philip Larsen
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I co-produced and co-wrote a song "True Colours" which was featured on a major UK TV campaign promoting diversity and equality in all its forms. It was an honour to be part of something so forward thinking.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog for synths and as of recently, digital for quality of plug-ins, reverbs and ease of recall of mixes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will get it right for you.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making music in all its forms, satisfied customers and hearing tracks I have worked on, on the radio.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Having heard the original piece of music, I ask them what they are listening to at the moment and depending on response, would suggest some ideas for their mix/remix/production. That way, we start off in the right place.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop (with Logic), Genelecs, weighted USB keyboard, Juno-60 and a solar power generator.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Daft Punk. My inspiration musically & professionally.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Just get the best possible recording of whatever it is being played/sung and the rest falls into place much easier.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: A musical approach to mixing and remixing. Plus having been fortunate to work on so many mixes, a quick turnaround!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to be as faithful to the original as possible, whilst keeping an eye on what will work commercially.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: A collection of gear started by my father in the 70s, being brought right up to date with my laptop and various mixing desks along the way. I wouldn't go without my Genelec speakers, on which I have mixed everything in the last 15 years and trust implicitly.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I grew up as a fan of Jeff Lynne and Jean-Michel Jarre was my neighbour. After that, 80s electronic music in all its forms became my inspiration (Kraftwerk, Human League, Vince Clarke) before the 90s kicked in and I threw myself into creating music for the clubs, in many forms. Time spent in Berlin with DJ producers such as Sven Vath and Paul van Dyk gave me the kick to really go for it myself.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically, my role falls between mixing and remixing. Usually clients come to me with well-formed ideas, that need a little push over the line. I have a lot of analogue gear and like to try and incorporate a sound or two from my studio in each mix. Only if it improves the original of course!
