Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Unfortunately, I am new to SoundBetter and have not had the pleasure of working directly with the other providers. However I know that SoundBetter is particular about who provides services on a Premium level meaning that they want the best of the best.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The main question is regarding the price. It depends on what the customer is looking for such as how many stems, do they want to include mixing and mastering, are vocals included, etc.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That making a song is easy. Creating a new song takes creative energy and a vast array of quality sounds. My years of experience has allowed me to create "shortcuts" to producing songs that has taken time to develop.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I begin with speaking with the client to find out what type of song they are looking to be created. Over time I have created a set routine depending upon the kind of song I am making. Once I finish, I provide a rough draft to the client for them to review and to suggest revisions. Once the client is satisfied, I then provide a final mix and master of the finished beat and send the wav files to the client.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Producing music for the hit TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians because it was a huge platform for my music to be heard by more than 17 million viewers as a producer.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on producing music for several TV shows for music licensing, working with international clients on music production and songwriting, and with a very talented R&B artist as I producer her EP.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I use a combination of both because there are tools in both worlds that can help me reach the desired sound I want.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To use every tool that I have and all of my 20 years of experience to give them the best product possible
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making music that brings joy to my clients and music lovers.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: For mixing and mastering, I would need to know what kind of environment they have been recording in. I would also need to know if they have separate wav files of the song (separate vocals, each track, each instrument separate). For music production, I would ask if they have vocals recorded I could build music around? Do they have a specific artist that they want to sound like? Do they have a track they want remade?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Check the provider's credentials and experience as well as listen to their work.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I would take my Yamaha HS8's, Novation keyboard, Mac computer (including software, plug-ins, and sounds), Focusrite interface, and Korg Monologue.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out as a saxophonist and a drummer. From there I moved into music production and writing songs as an artist. I recorded, mixed and mastered all of my own music including the artist I worked with. I have been doing this over 20 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is melodic and soulful with hard hitting drums and bass, big sounds and a huge mix.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Rick Ross because he has some of the most soulful music in Hip Hop.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Just like Papa Johns says better ingredients equal a better pizza...better sounds equal a better production.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I specialize in R&B, melodic Hip Hop, Pop, and Gospel but I can work in all genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is the combination of music production and engineering as I have been doing both for the same amount of time.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring over 20 years of experience in the music industry as a musician myself. I have been on all sides of the music industry from producer to artist to engineer and even record label owner.

A: We have a professional, acoustically treated studio with a recording booth. A: I am inspired by producer Darkchild, Dr. Dre, Kanye, and Timberland
