Pleasure working with Midian, She has great communication skills, bundles of patience and will keep working on your song until your 100% happy.
I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Midian over time and my artists Juna N Joey were fortunate enough to co-write a song with he although she was limited on time she fit us in--which we produced in Nashville. This is a testament to Midian's diversity--she was patient, warm and professional--Most folks that have heard our EP say the song Midian wrote is their favorite--Looking forward to our next collaboration!
A angel on earth talent is up and beyond a elite super patient and honest. A huge privilege to work with.
Such an amazing human and a pleasure to work with. Midian's voice is one of the most powerful I have ever heard..and her writing is completely genuine. Midian is a true artist and professional!!!
Interview with Midian
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My most recent work was with Elle King, I wrote a song for her called "Wild Love" which was then picked up by Estee Lauder and used as an international campaign featuring Kylie Jenner. I'm most proud of my work on Lemonade for Beyonce, which won a grammy. She is such an inspiration to me so to be able to deliver songs that are relatable for her was life changing.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently writing for Major Label artists & producing and writing for a couple of independent acts.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mickey Shiloh! wonderful person and extremely talented!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for everyday. Analog is an absolute treat whenever we can use it but for all intents and purposes of everyday work most people have switched over to Digital. You can still apply analog plug-ins to digital work, it's not the same feeling 100% but if you don't have access to analog, Digital will suffice.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To deliver quality work with a quick turn around.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the process of creating. I love to transform ideas into tangible work. I love to inspire and be inspired by those around me and help them bring their ideas to life.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How did you become a professional songwriter and producer? I worked hard and dedicated myself to learning. I write everyday. To me, songwriting is like a muscle, you have to work it every day to keep it in shape.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Mic, Duet, Speakers, Neve, Headphones.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am a fulltime songwriter and producer, I've been published for 3 years and i've been working in music professionally for 8 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I love all music, i've studied alot of genres and you can hear them all in my music.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: try pre mastering plug ins prior to mixing.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Urban, Country, Reggae, Dance, etc.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm a professional songwriter, producer and vocalist.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: interesting concepts and emotion
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start with a melody line I like musically. From there I will stand in front of the mic & start with melody. Sometimes I have a word or concept in mind. Generally, I will mumble words with my melody and sometimes I freestyle entire songs, go back and listen, fine tune whatever needs to be done, comp in what is missing, mix & bounce.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a mobile set up and a full studio in Los Angeles. I work from both.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
