Hey there! My name is Nolan and I'm a producer and audio engineer. I have over 7.5 million streams from indie releases and have worked with countless artists of various genres. As a fellow artist, I know it’s scary to trust someone online with your art, which is why I strive to treat every song I work on as my own!
Production: I specialize in producing Indie, Indie Pop, Modern Pop, Hip Hop, and R&B. I’m a huge analog synth nerd and a very focused drum programmer. With 8 years of production experience, I’m ready to help you bring your vision to life! I've produced songs based on already recorded vocals, demos that need re-produced, and even phone demos.
Vocal Production: I make it a point to mix your vocals from scratch to best fit your unique voice; no templates here! Expect crisp, full vocals every time.
Mixing: My goal when mixing any song is to use industry-standard processes to bring the best of each element. If you love punchy drums, big bass, silky synths, and full-bodied guitars then I’m your guy!
I want you to be completely satisfied with your music, and I will work tirelessly to make sure everything from the production to the mix reflects your vision.

Did decent job of mixing and mastering two songs for me but not what I would call a producer. He wasn’t able to make the final mix of my 2nd project with him sound the way I wanted. Also hired him for 3rd project and he ghosted me after he said he was starting in it then now weeks later still no responses. Not very professional.

Nolan is an excellent producer with plenty of talent on many fronts! I've worked with him on multiple tracks and have always been ecstatic with not just the end result, but the process as well. A great choice for anyone who wants to take their work to the next level with consistently quality production, mixing, sounds, and vocals!
I’ve worked with Nolan several times over the past months, and I’m glad to say that I have. He’s a skillful, efficient producer who knows how to bring out a song’s potential. His warmth and helpfulness are added bonuses. It’s always a pleasure working with Nolan, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to make a banger or two
Interview with Nolan Gerwing
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I choose both for different things! I have a bunch of analog synths that I often use instead of VSTs, but I prefer digital plugins for mixing because of the versatility.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have a clear vision of what you want for the song, and be ready to communicate it. Know the genre, mood, and energy of your song, and be ready to talk through all the different elements you have in mind. Have a couple of reference tracks prepared too.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I would bring my computer, interface, headphones, Moog Subphatty and my Prophet 08.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as extremely forward but also atmospheric. My productions are often led by a few simple elements, which I then compliment using counter melodies, atmospheric instruments, FX, and thoughtful mixing.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be afraid to try everything that comes to mind! I think it's super important to be in the moment when producing music, and I love experimenting with my productions.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mostly work on indie pop music, but I have lots of experience producing hip-hop, modern pop, indie, rock, and r&b!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my versatility as a producer, but also my experience as an artist. I have been producing various genres of music for over 8 years, and have been releasing my own music for 5 years.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I get started by talking with the artist and asking questions to best understand their vision for the song. Then I put together a demo based on that conversation. This first demo will be simple and will be used to solidify the arrangement and all the specific elements. Then I work on finishing up production. When the artist is completely satisfied with the production, I move on to mixing, mastering, and finishing the track.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of my home studio in Dallas TX. I have two Yamaha HS8 studio monitors run through a Focusrite 18i20. I produce in Ableton. I have a Neuman TLM 102, Rode NT1-A, Slate VMS ML-1, and two Shure SM57 microphones. I have a Prophet 08, Roland Juno-106, Yamaha DX7, Moog Sub Phatty, Arturia Microfreak, and an Elektron Model:Samples drum programmer.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I work on music at every possible stage of the creative process. That means I write lyrics, compose music, produce instrumentals, tune/process/edit vocals, record vocals (if needed), and mix and master all my projects.
