I've been playing drums for 15 years and I can provide full acoustic drum kit recordings for your rock/prog/metal/pop tracks. I have a recording studio and a lot of recording equipment and can provide multi-track recordings in various microphone combinations, either fully edited and mixed or raw. Can do price/song or hourly rate.

I am happy to work on a Price per Song basis and the price will vary based on the complexity of the song starting as low as $75 - You will also have the opportunity to send feedback and I generally support up to 2 free small changes (change a transition, maybe a small section). This will include light edits of the multitracks to fit the scope and requirements. (e.g. perfectly on grid or loose)

I can also work on an hourly rate of $19 and will generally charge that rate for more complex changes requested during the collaboration process.

Interview with Alex Dascal

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting new people. Building my vocabulary and knowledge of what I love most, music. Getting an opportunity to express myself creatively where appropriate.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have started learning drums in high-school as a self-starter and have been self-taught ever since. I've played in a grunge band back when I started and after 6 months or so moved into a symphonic metal band with which I've played for about 7-8 years. In the meantime I had collaborations with other groups (more mellow, indie type of music) and had formed a side-project with a few friends which lasted for almost 10 years (alt rock, prog-ish). When the pandemic hit I recorded an album for a symphonic metal project some of my friends started followed by a two year hiatus. In the past 3-4 years I built a small studio for myself and started drumming again. This year I've joined a new group (nu-metal, FINALLY :D) with which I've been playing some live shows and done some studio work.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Early 2000s nu-metal/alt metal is where I feel most at home most probably. I have worked my entire career to broaden my horizons and vocabulary and to be perfectly honest I haven't worked with any bands/projects that fit into that nu-metal lane until recently :D
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I usually use a lot of parallel compression to make sure my drums cut through while also staying close to a natural sounding kit.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I have a lot of experience with rock and heavier music in general. I have played symphonic metal and alternative metal for a lot of years. I do listen a wide variety of music genres and am generally interested in broadening my horizons as much as possible.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Music production processes (expecially mixing drums). I am incredibly passionate about the production process in general whether we are talking about capturing sounds, mixing, mastering or anything in between.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Attention to detail, patience and a strong focus on "sound". I always strive to make the right sonic choice so that my drum parts fit the song as good as possible.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: Recording live drums in my studio for both original pieces or cover songs.
