Lazarus Michaelides is a freelance Bass Guitarist, Music Tutor, Session Player and Performer. Based in London, he has studied the Higher Diploma and BMus Degree at the Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance and was awarded 'Best Bassist of 2013/14'. Lazarus is currently endorsed by Overwater Basses, Rotosound Strings and Darkglass Electronics.
Lazarus' set up includes a versatile Overwater Custom Jazz Bass and an Overwater Custom Fretless Bass - both with Rotosound Strings. He records through the Darkglass Vintage Deluxe Pre-Amp which goes into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Interface - a quality industry-standard interface! Lazarus plays most genres of music, but specialises, and is most comfortable, in playing Soul, Motown, Pop, Jazz, Reggae, Rock and Funk. Lazarus is also a competent sight reader. In 2014, Lazarus was booked for a session playing Bass Guitar on a demo for the successful, modern Pop artist, John Newman. Lazarus has also played for modern Soul artist, Moncrieff, for a year - doing numerous recording sessions and live shows in and around London. He also played Bass Guitar for the opening act at Jamie Oliver's Big Feastival 2014 - sharing a stage with artists such as Jamie Cullum, Fatboy Slim, Bjorn Again and others. Lazarus says: "I'm really excited to be offering my services to this great company! By buying my services you will receive my full commitment to the session and, overall, project. I will work my hardest and dedicate myself 100% to giving you the best Bass track to fit your music! I promise 3 things: Commitment, Communication and Competence - I hope to hear from you soon and look forward to begin working with you!".
