Jason Hall - Hot Lava Studio on SoundBetter

I have been Recording, Mixing and Producing music in Nashville since 2007

I Mix and Master music. Living in Nashville, I work on a decent amount of Country records, but also do Rock and Pop records, as well as singer/songwriter. Basically good music.
I still do full band recording and overdubs here at my studio, and elsewhere.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

  1. Review by Layla K.

Jason was a real pleasure to work with and gave me a great recording experience. His studio is great, as well as his professionalism and welcoming spirit. I highly recommend him and would not hesitate to travel to Nashville to work with him again.

Interview with Jason Hall - Hot Lava Studio

  1. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  2. A: Recording, Mixing and Mastering

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: I have a good sized control room to accommodate several listeners, two isolation rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. I have a hybrid mixing and recording setup, which means I use a decent amount of outboard gear as well as plugins in Pro Tools.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: Making music sound great.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: Pop/Rock, Country, good music.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: I love doing it and it doesn't feel like work.

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: I will make you happy, no matter how long it takes. Which is why I don't typically do an hourly rate. That way the client doesn't feel taken advantage of or feel like they can't ask for more changes.

  13. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  14. A: I use as much analog gear as possible. I even run tracks back through outboard gear to give it the feel/sound of analog. It's almost impossible to completely escape digital, so I try to make the best of it.

  15. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  16. A: Right this second, a Rock 'n Roll record by TJ Hitt.
