I am a composer, multi-instrumentalist and music educator, born in NYC and based in Brooklyn since the 1980s. Having studied piano, electronic music and composition, I took to the accordion in the 1990s, which has become my main performing instrument.
I have written and recorded songs for Disney Channel (The Book of Pooh), MTV and Nickelodeon, and recorded sessions for songwriters, films and theater companies. I have performed and recorded as a member of Washboard Jungle, Le Nozze di Carlo, The Corner Store, and the BAN Radio “Orchestra”. I have a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, an MA from Brooklyn College, and have received grants and commissions from numerous organizations.
Since 2005, I have led the Famous Accordion Orchestra, whose repertoire covers a wide range of musical traditions - Offenbach, Ellington, Copland, Beatles, Marley, Kraftwerk, Brel, Klezmer, Basque, Italian, Zydeco, along with original compositions.
I also am a specialist in early childhood and elementary education, bringing folk, world, and modern music to students in the classroom and on video.
