Interview with Gixn
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Take breaks when recording and producing because when you drag out a session you tend to loose patience and drive.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, mic, interface, power outlet and some solar panels cause how else am i gonna get power to use all my equipment.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: About two years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Indie/Pop with a bit of sad boy and whiny vocals.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Dominic Fike, his style has influenced mine a lot and he seems to be perfecting his sound the more music he releases.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't compare yourself to anybody else. Write what you like and what reflects off who you are and no one else.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie/Pop, Pop, R&B.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Writing catchy hooks, finding the originality within me to make something authentic and unique.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Could be my personal experiences, typical randomness, just depends on how I feel and what's going on.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to a beat, get inspired, write then record.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: It's kind of basic to be quite honest. I got my mxl 990 connected to my Focusrite solo and I record straight into my laptop. Pretty simple but it gets the job done.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Dominic Fike, Cuco, Joji, Clairo, Boy Pablo, Castlebeats and many more indie/Pop artists.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I could write songs and provide a feature whether its a chorus or a verse.
