Award-Winning Songwriter with Mobo Awards UK & BBC Introducing and experienced Singer with nuanced, emotive performances that make you FEEL things.
Need a unique voice and/or prolific songwriter on your track? I have extensive knowledge in the fundamentals of songwriting, both lyric and melody, AND an extremely unique and emotional vocal tone. I can take your track to the NEXT LEVEL.
You can expect EXPERT harmonies, background vocals and ad libs as well, with a powerful belt (think Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson), but can also give you smooth, breathy textures (a la Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish), and more soulful sounds (akin to Joss Stone, or Adele).
Need a modern, fresh and banging song production? I got you covered - I sing, write, play guitar and produce 100% of my material, so I bring a lot of creative facets to the table. Collaboration is my jam - I love helping creatives bring their projects up a gear.
Personally, I bring a positive creative energy to each project, and my goal is always to help create the BEST song possible. My workflow is super efficient, and I guarantee a quick turnaround time for all projects and revisions. For remote projects, all vocals are cut in my professional home studio.

She has an amazing voice and is collaborative and professional.
Also, she will keep you constantly updated. You won't regret it.
Hi Lynz and all lovers of good music. I wrote some songs and asked Lynz to arrange and sing. First we had a song called "Climbing Hills". As i listened i knew it was was not the first work together and still. I'm from Germany and over the borders we made an interesting project with five songs and I'm proud of it and lucky. Lynz, go your own way, it's a good way. Thank you very much to bring my music to the world. New songs are waiting. Love Jay
An amazing talent with a song birds voice! And a heart of gold!
Lynz recorded a personalized song based on another song but with reworked lyrics for me for my wife's birthday a few years back, and the result was outstanding! She helped me through the process and delivered on time and with such heart. I was delighted with the song!
If you need help on your tracks, do not delay and book Lynz ASAP! You won't be disappointed!
Interview with Lynz Crichton
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I won a UK Songwriting competition and got to work at Metropolis Studios in London with JinJin (songwriter the stars: Jess Glynn, Little Mix, Clean Bandit, Yebba etc) and I spent time with the new wave of Mobo Unsung winners and we collaborated on batch of new songs. It was so awesome to be a part of something that was so cross-genre - brought out so many fresh ideas.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Writing and producing my own material with my Patreon crew! I write, record and produce a new song each week in there. It’s awesome fun!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Boom fox productions - she is killer!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. But I do love listening to vinyls. 😜
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise I will give 110% to your project and keep communication flowing throughout the process
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I absolutely LOVE creating and collaborating. I love connecting with the vision of the client and hearing things like ‘ahhh you read my mind!’
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Most common questions are turnaround time, and price. Both vary but my turnaround time is usually no longer than a week.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Not really sure? I suspect there aren’t as many females doing this so that may raise some apprehension, but my clients to date have been very happy with my work!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask which songs of artists inspired the song they are asking me to work on.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Any questions you have - just ask! Give artist/song examples if you can - it helps to guide the direction more easily & quicker.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Mic, interface, laptop, acoustic guitar, midi interface.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been playing and writing music my entire life. I have been a pro independent musician for about 7 years now and found that I LOVED helping other musicians realise their own projects and music. I have a young family and to be able work this dream music life around them really is the best of both worlds for me.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My vocal tone definitely lends itself more to Rock, Folk, Indie-pop, Country, Soul kinda style but I love adding all sorts of fusion elements to my music.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are so many!! I’d love to work with Adele someday. She seems a giggle, but has the unique ability to bring someone to tears even if she’s singing the alphabet!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Pull the work tape into the session, even if it is just a voice memo. Also another reference track if available. It’s nice to access these quickly whilst building a track.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill is the ability to connect with the client’s vision for the song. When I hear work-tapes I often intuitively hear the intention/direction, but I am passionate about serving the client and their ideas for the song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Lots of creativity and a unique approach to instrumentation and production, a rich and authentic vocal.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depends what the work is. If it’s me creating a song from scratch, I’ll often start by listening to a ton of music beforehand to get some inspiration juice. Then pull in a reference track, and start riffing a track on guitar and vocals. If I am working for a client, I will look very closely at their exact requirements and meticulously set down vocal takes and comps until I am satisfied that the track is good, then check in with the client before moving on record the whole thing.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is simple but effective! I work off Logic Pro, and have various helpful 3rd party plugins. I have my stand alone studio closed off at home and it is definitely my happy place 😍
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love the production on KT Tunstall’s tracks as her guitar tone is gorgeous, plus I do enjoy playing looper pedal so it’s important to be able to dial in those drum tracks to make sure they lift the music! Equally I am super inspired by other independent musicians who record their own music, like Orla Gartland or Dodie. Of course the vocals of Billie Eilish or Adele are pretty sweet 😉
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: For Soundbetter clients, I mostly make vocal tracks, harmonies, and toplining. I have my own home studio and usually turn around vocal takes within a day or two, and absolutely love helping clients get great clean, edited takes. I have also recorded guitar tracks for clients and produced fully fledged demo’s and songs for clients, who simply want their rough work tape/song to be produced in full. I help and mentor other musicians with breakthrough sessions and continued coaching with their own careers.
