James Slim Campbell

Mixer, Engineer, Producer

James Slim Campbell on SoundBetter

Hi, I'm James. I mix, I track, and I also do FOH. I run a mix room/small overdub studio near Sheffield UK, and also travel to various studios throughout the UK.

James started his career at Steelworks Studios, working for Producer/Songwriter Eliot Kennedy. He quickly progressed through the usual stages of Intern-Assistant-Engineer, and within 1 year James was the Head Engineer and Studio Manager. James left Steelworks in 2014 and subsequently opened his own mix room/overdub studio, Atlas Studios.

Most recently, James has been working with artists such as Public Service Broadcasting, The Robert Glasper Experiment, and Anoushka Shankar, the latter has recently been nominated for a Grammy Award in Best World Music.

Whilst James usually works out of Atlas, he is happy working anywhere, be it a conventional studio or not. For example James spent the first 2 months of 2017 recording Public Service Broadcasting's third album in a community hall in South Wales.
