Multi platinum and gold award winning engineer (Bobby Valentino, Britney Spears, Hilary Duff). Music production since 1999. I've worked with the best. I have a knack for making your music pop.
I specialize in finishing projects. I enjoy working with artists to help them execute their ideas. When the artist and I are a good fit together, I also thoroughly enjoy the complete creative process from writing to mastered product.
I excel in being able to communicate with artists in a way that translates to the desired sound being achieved. I am often a helpful intermediary between the artist and representation, helping both parties reach the goals desired with the project at hand.
My skill set includes:
Production - Ability to conceive and oversee an effective process to gain the result desired
Writing/Programming/Composing - Artists and TV: MTV, VH1, Bravo!, etc
Engineering - Comfortable in the studio or on location. Engineering was my first area of study.
Editing - Able to keep things musical. Pitch adjustments and comping are par for course.
Mixing - Music, Commercials, Film.
Mastering - Cohesiveness of project. Just the right amount of LUFS. Dynamics.
Bass - I try my best to play bass just like Geezer Butler.
Acoustic Guitar - This is my longest running instrument. Enjoy writing with an acoustic.

I have worked with many mixers and Andrew has a great creative ear and excelled at finding the song in the stems I gave him. His communication is unfailingly timely, cheerful, and receptive. I felt our work together was truly collaborative and that we shared a mutual regard for bring the most to the track. I highly recommend Andrew to anyone looking for that in a mixer. Thanks, Andrew!
Andrew has a great ear, used a light touch in mixing/mastering my compositions, was communicative, and receptive to a couple adjustments I needed. He also spent a fair amount of time with me on the phone discussing opportunities in the industry and connecting me with some of his own contact. Great guy, great work, and if you are thinking of working with him - DO IT!
Working with Andrew made me…better. He tamed my process and helped me to focus on my strengths . The overall quality of my work has been drastically elevated and my confidence is at an all time high. I feel lucky to have met him and I look forward to working with him again in the future. Thanks again Andrew!
Out of all the producers and mixers I've worked with over the years, Andrew remains my go-to call. He makes good things happen; he makes great records.
If there is any way to get something done, Andrew can do it. If you're setting out on a course to waste your own time and money, though, he'll tell you, and that's a damned valuable trait in a collaborator.Andrew was tech-savvy on a high level when most producers were still asking their protools assistants for help, and he stays current across formats. He rocks. He rolls. He'll make you shine!
I started working with Andrew in ‘08. When we met,he was a patient producer to an inexperienced musician. He helped realize a sound and concept, with brutal honesty and goal oriented criticism. Personally writing in many different music genres he was able to adapt and progress, being aware of my creative direction. He is a very creative ear. Can quickly understand what you’d like out of a song and project after a few runs. Has a great ear for mastering and overall sound of a record. Outside of being an awesome human he is a fantastic engineer and producer for multiple areas of music.
As a boutique production company, we have found Andrew to be an invaluable asset. He knows his way around a film set and knows how to deliver the goods on the back end. From location sound to the final mastering, he is our go-to guy. He could not be easier to work with and I'm looking forward to our next project together!
We have worked with Andrew since 2015, he has mixed both our (cinematic, orchestral, instrumental, post-rock) debut album and follow up EP, his mixes have helped us to gain national radio play in the UK (BBC) and multiple syncs. Easy to work with (remotely), listens to suggestions and accommodates, quick turn around and a general top guy.
As an independent filmmaker I considered myself very lucky to have found Andrew. Not only was he familiar with on-set sound and was able to help me mix some additional dialogue recordings to match what what we'd shot, but the music that I sourced from him was perfect. Honestly, perfect. We talked back and forth about what I was looking for, and like a genie in a bottle, he was able to provide me with almost exactly what I had imagined. I have worked with a handful of music producers in the past, but none have been as genuinely helpful and assertive as Andrew.

I started working with Andrew back in 2012 in Denver on a few recordings. When we first met, I left that meeting confident in his artistic vision and passion for music. He helped me grow substantially as an artist, to find and capture the heart of a song while helping me develop confidence in the craft. I have always appreciated his transparency and generosity when it comes to sharing his knowledge about music and the industry. He is a guru at developing new artists and being able to bring out their best work. I highly recommend Andrew for any project, he is an incredible person to work with!
I've worked with Andrew on 2 of my albums. The first project we worked on together he was a life saver. The whole album was a mess due to a crappy mixer. But Andrew knew exactly how to take the tracks I had and execute the vision I had intended. I was lucky to find him.
He mixed and co-produced the project. I then hired him for my next project and am glad that I did. He's really committed to executing the vision of the artist and takes direction well. After hundreds of hours working together, Andrew is still someone that I look up to and think of fondly.
Interview with Andrew Nast
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I'm going to go with large knife, magnifying glass, fishing kit, tent and spare outfit.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started in 1997 as an underage music promoter, fronting as a company to William Morris. I quickly got into the technical side and by 2001 I was engineering for The Matrix on multi-platinum records. After a few years I went on to Midas records where I designed a studio around a Euphonix cs2000 and worked with Austin Brown, Bobby Valentino and production duo Tim and Bob. I found a few indie gigs to keep things running - notably Jude and Veruca Salt. From there I started a song-writing production team with my Friend Jim Perkins. We produced some nice records for OPM, Big B and Kotton Mouth Kings, which included artists such as Pato Banton, Sen Dog, Tech N9ne and Scott Russo. Post J&A I wrote a ton of music that has been featured on MTV, VH1, Bravo and E!, to name a few. I spent some time in Denver running a studio called the Decibel Garden, where I installed a Neotek Elite and oversaw a control room remodel. I returned to So Cal where I continue to help artists mix, master and produce music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process is unique to each project. Some clients may need me to take a liberal creative approach, others may desire a more technical result. I enjoy helping the client identify their ideal work process, and thriving within that.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use UAD and Waves plug-ins on ProTools and Logic. I have a P Bass, an acoustic guitar (and bass), a MIDI controller and JBL speakers.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: It's a toss up if I am approached more to help artists develop songs or hired to put the finishing touches on a track, be it mixing or mastering.
