William L. Robinson (Spectrum 13) established Urban Sufi Music in 2004, He realized to grow a progressive sound he had to dig in. From concept albums, and series built on an artistic self expression. He quickly found his own niche. Embracing the new independent publishing role. Finding placement in a worldwide commercial. He decided to widen his scope on mixing and mastering that embraces many genres of style.
Spectrum 13 was born from underground hip-hop, instrumental albums and alternative Hip Hop to soulful manifestations of pure inspiration. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: All tracks are mixed and mastered to 1/8 Reel. Once approved, versions are processed in; 43.2 gold standard & 44. standard. Each version comes with 16 bit, 24 Bit & 96 KhZ (Tidal Mastering, iTunes Limitless)

A: What do you need?
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Pre-production to Post-production, including short-run and collectors edition (one-off) pressings.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Finishing up several projects including, dHUA, Acklan and the PER Music Library Series (25 records on tap). Also, XL-Burners 'Gaming Music'.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog over digital. The former can-not be substituted for the later on vinyl.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working on concepts, putting out multiple albums. Being productive!

A: Know what you want.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I dropped out of college to pursue music. Moving to L.A. in 1994. Later I went back to finish up (2016). I've been involved in Indie Music (underground hip-hop & electronic music production) for over 25 years.

A: Eclectic Blue in Left field, with a hint of visionary soul!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Try to stay in key and study music from a classic aspect.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Minimal, ambient, electronic, beat art (hip-hop instrumentals). A few dance tracks tucked as well.

A: Pulling the most out of every track.

A: Eclectically speaking, presence and over 25 years of experience.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: More relaxed non-contrived, savoring the whole process and appreciating the gifts. Daily-weekly-monthly to quarterly, I'm chipping away at the schedule. Knocking out concepts, and tracks lined up or albums on deck.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Acklan is more of a lounge, a place I go to work on many aspects of music. Including artwork, Merch, production, mixing and mastering.

A: For the record, Louis Armstrong's work ethic, George Clinton & Parliaments tenacity. James Browns relentlessness. Sly and the Family Stones ability to catch the pulse. And Yusef Lateef's longevity and yearly output.
