Interview with Optimum Mastering
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The studio was custom-designed by renowned studio architect Roger D’arcy, and includes a bespoke mastering console which is the centre-piece of the room and houses all the mastering hardware. A separate side room houses our beloved Neumann VMS-70 cutting lathe that has been meticulously maintained to ensure it's cutting as well as ever 50 years on!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Our usual week is split between various mastering projects, and cutting vinyl master lacquers. We're often lucky enough to enjoy a good balance of album projects as well as smaller EPs, singles and reissue projects.
