I'm a producer, a recording/mix engineer, a songwriter and a musician. Sometimes it's for an artist, sometimes for a company, and sometimes to scratch a creative itch. I've got a really amazing group of producers and writers that decided to join me in creating JTL Group. We love what we do!
I started playing drums at the age of 2. Started my first band and recording at the age of 9. Signed my first indie record deal at 17. Been making records for 20 years. I plan on making music until I drop.
From the up and coming indie artist to a major label artist, I like working on great music with great people.

Reviews (16)Endorse Jared Logan - JTL Group
It was an absolute pleasure working with Jared and his team. He was timely, showed patience and communicated frequently. Not only is he a very talented producer, he's an even better human being. Hire this man, you won't be disappointed.
Jared produced two singles for me, and I couldn't be happier with the songs or the experience. He is incredibly gifted. He was able to produce my music in a way that took it up several levels, all the while keeping my unique sound and preferences. I highly recommend him.
I've spent many long days in the studio with Jared while he worked with artists from many different genres; his humility gives him the freedom to follow the best idea in the room, rather than just his own. He has a work ethic that few people can sustain. I've never once seen an artist leave unhappy, they always look forward to the next project.
Jared is a super talented and intuitive producer. I've had the joy of working with him in the studio for the last three years. I've seen him on countless projects with the widest array of artistic stylings. He has the vision and forethought to direct a song into what it is supposed to be. Expect integrity, professionalism and mega creativity!
I've known Jared for years. He was the killer drummer in Jazz Band in school. He became the friend, musical companion and engineer for my first, and second album. He played drums on both. I have a thousand good things to say about Jared and his abilities but there isn't space. Use Jared, you will not regret it. I'd work with Jared any time, ever.
I've loved my experience of working with Jared and the JTL Group and highly recommend his services. I've done numerous projects with him and always leave feeling like I not only produced a record, but also grew as an artist and songwriter.
In all of my career of 20+ years of recording and having worked with many producers on 40+ projects I can say with confidence that Jared Logan and the staff at JTL are simply the BEST! I don't know anyone else that can do what Jared can do and as quickly. He has brought so much of the music in my head the life in ways that do not disappoint!
I have been in the studio with many producers and engineers over the last 20 years but few have the speed, creativity and genuine care for their craft that Jared does. He always creates an environment that helps the artist reach higher and has a way of pulling out the best in an individual. Highly recommended.
JTL is an amazing group thats genuinely dedicated to what they do. Jared goes over and beyond and takes great care in every detail of each project to make sure it's the best it can be! I look forward to working on more projects with Jared and the JTL group!
I'm a huge fan of Jared both as a person and as a professional. He's so thorough in his process but never misses an opportunity to help the artist see the potential they have. It's taught me so much just being able to collab with him on projects. Always a learning experience!
Most of you reading this know that experiencing stress is one of the most counter-productive factors in a studio setting. This was one of the most conducive-to-creativity environments that I have ever recorded in. I've done a handful of projects with Jared and I'm looking forward to the next.
The ear and the quickness of concepts melodies and music ideas Jared has, is insane.
Right when you get to JTL you feel at home, I've done all my major projects there. It's how music making should be. Jared and the JTL group, will be apart of the rest of my career. You won't be let down!
I recorded an EP in 2015 from the ground up with the JTL group. From the music processes to the writing. Everystep with them was smooth and for the most part flawless. I don't know if it's the lava lamp :), but lyrically and musically, all my track came together like magic. Jared is very good at what he does. You won't be disappointed.
I've had the opportunity to work with Jared at JTL and the passion that he puts into his projects is second to none! Never settling for less, he always pursues each project with a steady focus to push the record to its fullest potential. His ear for production and mixing is impeccable. Definitely one of the best I've ever come across!
I've recorded several projects with Jared starting back in 2012, and have spent countless hours in the studio since. Jared Logan is everything you should look for in a producer. Creative genius, technician master and incredible visionary with every project. The best in the buisness.
After recording my first single with JTL in 2013 and EP in '14 I was hooked. I can remember how intentional Jared and his team were during the process. They weren't just dedicated to making a good track for their business but took the time to invest in me as an artist; three years later nothing's changed. Choose JTL for your project needs!
Interview with Jared Logan - JTL Group
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Zane Callister, Aaron Cooper, Matthew Boda Partners in crime @ JTL Bruce Codak Carter What a great songwriter!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much does is cost to make a record? My answer is….What kind of record are you trying to make? I've worked on budgets from $500-$100k+ The amount you spend doesn't automatically equal the quality.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think that people look at producing as having tons of opinion and having to tell everyone what to do. I don't use that approach. My philosophy to is produce the people in the room and then the music will come. It always does… I also don't feel that i need to have all of the ideas…as a producer you just need to know when the best one showed up! Run with that and things go well!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I lean towards working with cool people. So…it changes a lot. Last year i did some Pop, Country, Hip Hop, CCM, Alternative, Urban, Classical and something else in there that i can't think of.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'm level headed so with songwriting i bring an even keeled vibe to the room. I love drums so i always want to make sure the beat is right! I'm a good lyric editor and arranger.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Kenny Greenberg is one of the best guitarists around! His way with people and music is second to none. I am grateful to call him a friend and learn from someone so rad! Neal Pogue is one of the top mixing engineers in the industry! I learn from him on a regular basis and enjoy his friendship. Brian West is an incredible producer and musician! His career has lined him up with diverse artists and big success! Always inspired by this dude!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: My job as a producer is to find the person in the room with the best idea. It doesn't have to be mine. We just need the best idea.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We've got a laid back but professional vibe. We want artists to feel at home to invite creativity and let loose to get the best performances. Our gear is mixed up with new and old to get the sounds we love.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Anything that I've done that's made it to radio or reached many people is always such a great feeling. It's knowing that your work touched people's lives that gets me so stoked.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A custom sync track, a country record, a hip hop EP and just wrapped up a gospel track.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Stay inspired, have fun, work hard
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Produce, write, session play, mix
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! You've gotta know where you came from to know where you're going.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I always do my best and treat each client the same no matter the size of the budget or there "name".
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Music has been my favorite thing since I can remember. I get to do what I love for a living!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's your vision and budget. it helps me understand what we are going to build together.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Trust your gut. Take a chance if you're feeling it, pass if you're not.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A laptop, vintage drum kit, acoustic guitar, mic and pre. That was hard to narrow down to 5!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Law school of music...music won. Started making records in 1999.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm a chameleon of sorts. I like so many styles that my signature is more the fact that I can get into ah head space and create. I like quality and creativity.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would have to go back in time so I could record a Miles Davis record.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
