I strongly believe that the drum part, feel, tones and production should be both informed by and in service to the song's emotional intent. I'll study the song first, and then contribute unique-yet-supportive drum and percussion tracks.
I have been a professional sideman for the better part of the last decade. Half of that time has been out on the road playing indie rock, and the other half has been at home schlepping my drums into all types/sizes of venues playing all kinds of music from classic country to Blue Note "hard bop" to americana-tinged acoustic thrash metal. I am a student of music, and really do my homework when taking on a new gig. Perhaps that's one reason why I backed up 26 different live acts in 2018.
More so than playing live though, I have always enjoyed contributing drums/perc/feel to recordings. There's just something so special about making something that will last forever, and it's an opportunity I don't take lightly.
Just before COVID-19 hit, I fortuitously completed my home studio. It is 20 feet long and 13 feet high in the center and houses most of my vintage drum kits as well as dozens of snares and cymbals, auxiliary percussion, and all of my recording gear and mic collection. Thankfully, I have been fortunate to keep working throughout this whole ordeal, and have even gotten quite skilled self-engineering my own high quality drum tracks.
I am really excited to open my services up to clients all over the globe via the SoundBetter community, and hope you will consider me for your next song. Find out more about my playing at: neatbeats.biz

Endorse Cody RhodesCody is an absolute ace player and truly delivers on tone and feel. I've hired him to track remotely on a number of songs with varying styles/genres and I was supremely satisfied with the results. Cody is a great communicator who is effective at understanding what it is I am looking for. Simply put, Cody serves the song!
