Interview with AJ Scott
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I have a rock EP coming out that I'm very interested to hear others opinions on. I sort of mixed the hip hop genre with the rock genre like how MGK does sometimes.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My latest EP, "Rejuiced" should be dropping soon once I finish up polishing some tracks.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not, yet but I would like to get to know as many creative minds as possible!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog, I just think it sounds better. Everyone has a preference.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will get your track done, if it's taking me some time just know it's because I'm trying to get it as close to your creative image as possible.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like that I can express my creativity for the world to hear and alter into their own perspectives.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How am I able to change my voice so easily on tracks? I'm able to do so because I listen to almost every genre which allows me to get into another mindset while recording. Got to know the voice you're going for before you can do it.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Nothing much, I'm a pretty open book so if someone suspects something that isn't correct I usually correct that within the first interaction.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What type of track are you trying to make yours sound like.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you're idea is heard. Don't leave anything out of your image, so we can accomplish what your wanting your project to sound like.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was a top Athlete and was making music as a hobby and then found out I could express myself through when I was young so I started studying and practicing music. I've been making music for a bout 11 years now, producing, singing, and making beats.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I guess you could say more of a modern style, but I can dip into any type of style I want.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Tory Lanez because I can definitely match his flow and energy on a track.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: My biggest tip I could share is to just have fun with it. The more you enjoy your job the better you'll want/be at it. No Limits!

A: I'll make a beat or find one to pay for and start the writing process which doesn't take me too long due to the fact that I am very versatile and good at putting my emotions or thought onto the track. After I'll book studio time and finish the production there unless it's something I can do at my home studio.

A: I have about 6 different studios I go to based on the production and sound I'm trying to accomplish.
