I am a singer/songwriter and EDM Artist and Sound Engineer. I am also a general contractor and built a sound studio for a multi-award winning sound engineer who taught me most of what I know on how to build my own studio. My father, who taught me how to mix, was an audio engineer who also worked for Capitol Records.
I have a $7k 4ft x 8ft recording booth with Digital Mixer, High Quality microphone and headphones. You use your own laptop to record or you rent me and my mac. I use Logic.
Booth time is paid for in advance and booked in blocks. There are three blocks you can purchase.
2hrs - $140
4hrs - $220
8hrs - $300
You buy the blocks of time you think you'll need and schedule them out.
My time is billed as you go and is separate from the studio time. I am $35/hr.
I do most work by referrals.

If you go over your scheduled time, you pay $100/hr in a minimum of 1hr increments. All hourly rates are due at the end of your session by check or credit card.
