Interview with KMKZ
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing guitar and piano when I was 8, started a band and recorded demos when I was 11, started producing electronic music when I was 14, and have been producing for artists since I was 17. I'm 21 now.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I specialize in EDM/future pop (The Chainsmokers, Marshmello) and electronic/pop (Lauv, LANY). I've also done plenty of work in hip-hop/trap (Post Malone, DaBaby, Polo G)
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: After the client tells me what they want for their song or sends me a demo, I start building a track around it. Once I have a cohesive idea, I send a preview to the client to make sure they vibe with it. If they do, I continue the track and send previews to the client as I work on it.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Lauv, Benny Blanco, Max Martin, Skrillex, Diplo
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The client sends me a demo of their song or describes the type of song they want to make, and I produce an instrumental for them.
