Cameron

Hip Hop & Rap Music Producer

Cameron on SoundBetter

For years I have focused my career path on learning and developing those all-important skills necessary to provide professional audio production services. I have experience producing in Hip Hop, Pop, Indie Rock, and R&B, and have been fortunate enough to work with rising artists such as Flaujae and Comethazine.

It was 2013, I had just been suspended from school after losing an intense fight with another student. My grades were failing, my social life was nonexistent, and my mom had yet to find out about my class disruptions. I felt like I was losing an uphill battle to not only find purpose in life but to find myself. As I entered my home that day, mentally preparing for my mother’s wrath, I saw it, a brand new mac apple laptop with logic pro x fully downloaded and a beat pad table called Maschine. It was a week before my 13th birthday and my mom wanted to surprise me after a year of hearing my interest for audio production. Of course, this didn’t save me from my mother after hearing about the fight, but it did start my life-long journey of audio production and beat making. Since then, I’ve studied everything I can about mix engineering and mastering. I’ve gathered experience in Hip Hop, Pop, Indie Rock and R&B, but I remain open to working within new genres. Now, I strive to help others who may not have the resources or tools to professionally produce their art. I offer mixing and mastering services for both beats and vocals, as well as graphic design services. I only work on projects that I truly believe in, and I hope that as my client, you will truly believe in the work i do, and allow me to help bring your art to life.

Interview with Cameron

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: I usually start on the hook/chorus, as that helps create a foundation in the mix for where the vocals in the verse and adlibs should sit.

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: I have a 2020 Mac desktop computer positioned in front of two Yamaha high-quality speakers. I also utilize a sub woofer to really hear and feel the low-end of songs, which allows me to attenuate any 808 frequency issues and ultimately create a better mix.

  5. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  6. A: My clients always inspire me, as well as Kendrick Lamar and his producer Ali, J. Cole, Kanye West, and Travis Scott to name a few.

  7. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  8. A: Hip hop and rap is the most common work I do.
