Extremely versatile pianist and songwriter, who has a lot of experience composing and playing in a variety of genres.
I've been playing the piano and writing songs since about the age of 10. I excel in all aspects of songwriting, including chord progression, lyrics, song structures and catchy melody lines.
I have a degree in Music where I specialised in performance. My top genres to work with are Pop, Soul, House and Hip Hop.
If you would like a song or a chord progression written, please get in touch!

The examples I have given are to show my songwriting and piano play ability. My strength isn't really in producing, but I know many producers to work with. Please see my social accounts for more examples!

Interview with Ollie M
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The band example on my profile. I love the vocals. I wrote the song and am playing the piano.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Recording some piano examples.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: My brother, Dom Meakins. He's an amazing producer and mixer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. They both have pros and cons.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they will like the song, because playing and writing is part of who I am.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long will it take? And max 5 days. Is the song theirs after they pay for it? Absolutely, 100%.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm not too sure to be honest - I was going to say that I can't write number one hits, but I reckon I can, given the chance.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Mainly what are they trying to achieve, and how can I help them do that?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Give them as much detail as possible, and ask them as many questions as you can. Don't feel afraid of making your dream real.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A guitar, a piano, a drum kit, a mic, and a macbook. From that you can create anything.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this since I was 10.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Classical meats modern with a touch of soul.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with Bonobo or TheFatRat. Their music is simple just them, they make from the heart and it's constantly changing and evolving. And they're amazing musicians.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If it sounds good with just a piano, it will sound good with any amount of instruments. Keep it simple to start.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually Pop, House, Soul and Hip Hop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My piano playing and chord progression. I'm influenced a lot by classical composers such as Debussy, so it's awesome to this come through my music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Everything if needed! Depends on what is asked of me.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'll sit down and muck around with chords for around 20 minutes. I'll usually come up with something I like. Then I'll put the song together. After getting the main four chords, the song usually comes pretty quickly. The melody usually comes after that.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I literally just have an electric piano, a Macbook, Logic X, and some Rokit 5s.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The list is far too long! But some of my fav artists/musicians are Bonobo, TheFatRat, Beach House, Louis Cole, Seven Lions
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I write songs, including melodies, chord progressions and lyrics.
