Primary Mystical Experience on SoundBetter

Hello everyone! I am a lifelong sonic explorer with an emphasis on CREATIVE, VIBEY productions and sounds. If you want a current, edgy sound that will capture attention immediately I am your guy. I am an accomplished drummer and know how to get great drum sounds in a mix. I also have many analogue synths and compressors ready to go :)

I am currently working in Logic Pro X. I offer 16 channels of analogue preamps, stereo 1176 analogue compression, stereo tube compression/eq, and stereo analogue eq..great for adding character to individual tracks and mix-bus compression. I also have a huge range of top-performing plug-ins to add life and shape sounds

I can help you compose, record, sound design, score, mix, and master and have 15+ years experience in these fields. I ran a studio in Austin, TX called Tea Farm Recordings for many years and now have relocated to Los Angeles where I work out of my home studio.

I am also a seasoned performer as well as an engineer/producer. I am a skilled multi-instrumentalist specializing in drumset and synthesizers. I also play guitar, bass, keys, and sing with a high degree of competence. Notable projects include Yuma, Brazilian Space Program, Primary Mystical Experience, and Galecstasy. I have mixed incredible artists such as Mike Watt, Greg Saunier, Logan Kane, Aboubacar Sylla, and more!

I was in a pinch to get a record mixed quickly, and Jared really came through! He's quick, technically proficient, easy to work with, and reasonably priced. Recommend!

I have worked with Jared on multiple projects and I appreciated the attention and care that was taken for each one. I love the analog mastering!!

PME was the engineer on records we made together, and I couldn't be luckier to have a professional like that in the room. He's got a complete knowledge of the process and brings a high level of taste and consideration to the end result. He made the music sound better than my feeble musician brain could imagine. Work with the best, get the best.

PME came through when our original mix/master engineer dropped out last second. Jared's musical approach and thoughtful stylistic choices really lifted the project to a higher level. Jared is super responsive when it comes to communication and is friendly to the budget constraints of artists who are funding their own projects. My first choice for mix/master

I had the pleasure of working with PME years ago on a number of projects, and I can attest to his patience, knowledge, and professionalism on each aspect of the process. His interest in not only getting you the sound you're looking for, but giving creative inspiration when needed is immediately apparent. I deeply valued his input for all things recording and music related and still apply some of the tips and tricks I picked up from him to this day in my own work. Highly recommended.

Jared (PME) is great to partner with on studio projects as performer, engineer, and production. As a song-writer it is always a delight to work with someone who makes decisions on mixing and performing based on what the song needs to be taken to the next level. He is an amazing and capable presence in the studio, teasing out the best in one's tunes by having a keen intuition on what needs to be focused on to elevate the work. Would and will work with him again someday!

Primary Mystical Experience is my first choice for mixing or mastering. I have several records on labels that are mastered by PME. Sonic super star.

Interview with Primary Mystical Experience

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Both. Everything is a tool. Every musical moment is unique. It's your choices that matter!

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: The endless well of creativity and the beauty of sound always gives back in ways I cannot imagine

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: I always ask for reference tracks so I can try to get inside the soundtrack in your head. Send me a smattering of youtube links that you think are the coolest thing you've ever heard :)

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Never put any limits on what you want to make. Period.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: I think my best skill by far is my A E S T H E T I C. Combine the fearlessness, embodiment, technical mastery, and boundary-pushing of Sun Ra and Bitches Brew, the exploration and focus on new technological frontiers in the past a la Tangerine Dream and Morton Subotnick, and the current fusion of sampling and creative beatmakers such as knxledge and MNDSGN and you are getting a rough outline of my sound. My studio is used creatively at all times in an effort to move the needle (no pun intended) of change through radical sound into the future

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: A completely unique perspective you will not get anywhere else. Technical understanding. You dream it up - I make it happen
