Let’s take your creative idea and finish it! I’m a multi-instrumentalist and mix engineer who can finish or even add all the missing parts to your song. Whether you need bass, piano, drums, guitar, synths, or beats to finish your rough tracks, just share your vision and I’ll take care of the rest.
Focusing mainly on the Christian music areas of Pop, Rock, Alternative, or the fringes of Electronic music, we can push the boundaries of your sound. I’ve been a musician for over 30 years and recording music for over 20. While primarily a bass player, I regularly add piano, guitar, drum, and software instrument tracks to my client’s records out of my studio Studio Trastevere.
My electrical engineering degree and years of tinkering has helped me to know my gear and be creative without the technical parts getting in the way. Everything in my studio runs through an Apogee Ensemble interface. I have microphones by Neuman, Mojave Audio, Avantone, Miktek, and Slate Digital. For mixing your music, I utilize Logic Pro with plugins by Slate Digital, Waves, Izotope, and Arturia while monitoring through Dynaudio and Avantone speakers.
I've learned that my Christian spiritual gift of music is best used in the niche of helping others make and perform music (hence, I'm a bass player). So if you are trying to share your part of the story through music, I would be honored to help!

Interview with Andy Gardner
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Typically other Christian artists either piano/vocal, singer-songwriter, or others.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: A solid workflow is important to me. As I start the creative process, I don't want to be digging around for things. My Logic Pro sessions are streamlined with templates and defaults so I can listen to the song, groove to it for a bit, and start getting creative.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Guys like Butch Walker who know the studio, know the instruments, know songwriting, and can rock through it all to cook up a masterpiece with someone.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'm always looking to either add to the rhythm or play off the melody. Basically to embellish on the core of the song in a hopefully interesting an unexpected way.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The studio is a single room with a Gretsch drum kit, a 5' Grinnell Bros upright piano, MIDI Synths, basses, guitars, and a couple of accordions for good measure. Everything is always mic'd up and ready to record.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I Frequently, clients begin recording a song and kick it to me for additional instrumentation.
