  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I did a master for a group called Millesim. that song reached over 294K plays, i enjoyed working on that project.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Mixing an Acoustic EP.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Both. Analog for character,warmth,flavour. Digital for surgical,clarity,precision.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: To deliver Ultra quality.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Hearing the good feedback from clients.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: Can you master it for free = No sorry. Can you make it sound exactly like (this track) = I can try to get it close but nothing is ever the same. Can you remove distortion from this track? = No i can't, once distortion is on the track i cannot undo it.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: Mastering will fix all problems with the track. Not true.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: Are you sure you are at the final stages for mixing/mastering?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: We always give a High end quality, but still keep it affordable.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Prism orpheus, Avalon 747, Maselec Mpl-2, SSL G compressor, Macbook pro.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: To become a GREAT engineer...7 years later... still doing it.

  24. A: Legendary

  26. A: Chris brown or George ezra because their voices are unique.

  28. A: Buy good equipment you can rely on, Don't buy cheap and nasty.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: Anything from EDM in general, to classical,soundtracks,pop,jazz. But at Ultra Mastering we mix and master ALL genres.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: My ears, being able to hear what others don't.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: Clarity,Warmth,Punch.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: Receive the track, listen to it about 10 times and write down what i think it needs, then get to work.
