Hi there, I'm Alex Thomas. I'm currently the drummer for U.N.K.L.E. & Anna Calvi, and have previously played drums on albums for Air, Bat For Lashes, John Cale, Bloc Party, and Bolt Thrower amongst others. Also used to play live drums for Squarepusher, Beth Orton, The The and Mount Kimbie too. Have a large high end Neve / API front end studio for drum recording. 24 channels of Neve and API with Neumann, AKG, EV, Sennheiser and Shure mics, in a large 8 x 5m live room.
I love getting cool drum sounds and coming up with interesting parts to fit songs.
Have several vintage drum kits and a huge amount of snares, cymbals and percussion.
Also play bass and guitar, large collection of vintage and modern amps & guitars.

Alex is a fantastic drummer! He recorded 2 different options of the entire drum track in less than 24 hours. Btw both versions are amazing and now I have a hard choice of deciding which one will go to the mix. He works with very solid setup - drums are not just played fantastic but they do sound fabulous, even unmixed
I worked with Alex on a project last year as I needed some drums for a project I'd been working on. I sent him my ideas remotely and he went above and beyond in not only realising my ideas but going one step further and making them ten times better. Recorded in his home studio, they sounded absolutely superb and got me really excited about releasing the tracks. The turnaround was super fast as well. I'd 100% work with him again and I'm really glad I made the connection.
