I've been making dance music for over 10 years, working with labels such as !K7, Heist Recordings, Phonica Records, Shall Not Fade, Wah Wah 45's & more. As well as mixing, I can provide additional production for upcoming artists who need to take their music to the next level.
I'm here to offer my services as a mixing engineer and electronic producer. I work predominately in electronic music although not exclusively.
I offer a competitive negotiable rate for stem mixdowns and can do additional production on a track if required. In order for me to work on your track, all I need is the separate stems without any mixing or mastering plugins on them, so no EQ's, compressors or limiters.
What you will get:
* A mixed -0db WAV of your track at full volume
* A premastered -6db WAV of your track which can be passed to a mastering engineer to finish
** I work regularly with several trusted mastering engineers with varying price ranges, and on request I will happily get your project mastered with them as part of the job.

Joe is ideal to work with. He understood my project right away, pointed it in the right direction and was a wealth of knowledge. 'Music consultation' is a very broad term but Joe truly understood the musical direction I was trying to head in and provided great tips on production, songwriting, phrasing and mixing. I would highly recommend recommend Joe from both a technical and a creative standpoint.

Joe communicated very well. He was able to gauge the over all sound I was aiming for, very happy on how everything turned out. Will be coming back to him for future projects.

It was great working with Joe. His mix really turned the tracks from mediocre bedroom producer's to absolute bangers. I'll definitely work with Joe again in the future.

Interview with Joe Danvers
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never fill the composition all the way up - if everything is happening, you can't focus on anything. Always think about the top priority sound at any one point in a track, and make sure it stands out above everything else.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly electronic dance music, however recently I've been really enjoying moving towards pop music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I can bring a huge amount of warmth, width and brightness to a track without making it sound bloated or noisy.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Depth, width, brightness and loudness.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to do my mixing jobs first thing in the morning when my ears are fresh - I spend the afternoons learning new techniques and composing my own productions. I build up my compositions by prioritising the sounds in the track; if it's a bass-led house track for example, I will start by balancing the kick drum and the bass stem together, and then 'hang' all of the other sounds in the track around these core elements to make sure that they stand out without being overshadowed.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of my studio in Hackney Wick, London which is called 38 East. The space has a lot of hardware; mostly synths, drum machines and an Allen Heath mixing desk, which I use for my own productions or for additional production on a job if needed. Alongside the hardware I use a lot of plugins in the box; my go-to plugins are Ozone, Fab and Acustica Audio.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Tom Demac and Barry Grint and Rob Small are engineers who I know and have worked with over the years, I respect their ear and professionalism over anyone else who I've worked with in the industry
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Stem mixing. A client will provide me with their project separate into separate stem files, then I will mix these down in my studio and export a new, better sounding premaster file for the client. If needed, I can get this premastered mastered by a professional mastering engineer (I have several preferred engineers who I work with). I also provide additional production if required; I will add new elements to a track in order to bring it up to a professional standard. I will only do this on request.
