Interview with uSound Music

  1. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  2. A: Mark Knopfler and Armin Van Buuren. Because I can learn so much from them, two really different artists but so many skills.

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: Always start with one easy goal when it comes to private/personal projects, don´t overwhelm yourself with getting everything ready before you start producing. And one tip when it comes to working as a studio engineer, always have a fresh pot of coffee!

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: Lately, I´ve worked mostly with electronic music since I own a record company that focuses on electronic music. So I have finalized a lot of our artists' releases.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: In the studio, I´ll say my strongest skill is that I´m technically advanced, which means I see the technical difficulties quite amuzing, therefore a lot of my clients have said that I´m the "patch-master". Because I love to edit and patch recordings and often do it in an overcoming technical way.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: Our warmth, skillful view and "Nordic" sound

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: it all starts with the fundamentals, get the basic needs from the artist, if it´s a whole production we start with arrangements and session planning. If it´s mixing and mastering we start the same way, uncover the needs and wishes for the project

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: We have different locations for our studios, which means we work both from bigger studios to intimate ones. Just to be able to be available to our clients. A lot of our recent mastering jobs have been done remotely in home studios for our clients

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: all from Jean-Michel Jarre, Gorillaz, Iron Maiden, and Armand Van Buuren. My biggest inspiration when it comes to musical pieces is classical and soundtrack, the dynamic elements and versatile feeling I get from listening is out of this world

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: Mixing and mastering their project, all from electronica to metal. Lately, we´ve done most electronic music
