Hi there. Glad you found me!

I am a producer, songwriter and drummer. I specialize in pop, synth-pop, lo-fi and synthwave. I also produce beats in various styles and genres. I have been working for national swiss radio and television for 10 years, so my ears are trained for what works on big radio and what doesn't. As a performer, I have been on every size of a stage (small club to festivals to big stadium stages).

You need help writing a song? You want your song idea to be fleshed out and fully produced? You need a kick ass drum produced? Hit me up and tell me about your project.

I don't accept too many projects at the same time, to ensure that we get the best out of your idea and turn it into something unique. If you have any questions, just hit me up and let's talk.

Dom is a real pro and he is very friendly and helpful. Had a blast working with him. My song sounded so much better with his beats and lush, organic synth sounds! And he delivered way ahead of my time schedule, which is kinda rare =)

Worked for the first time with this producer and besides the fact that he's a lot of fun to work with, he's very musical and has a lot of great ideas in how to get the maximum out of your track. Plus he's very professional in terms of delivery. It's definitely not the last production I did with him!

Interview with Lazer Boomerang

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: This process varies, based on the assignment and whom I work with.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am working on a couple of drum programmings and chorus melodies.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: It always depends on the song, the style and the idea behind it.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Being able to be creative every day!

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: I think the most important thing is: Do I feel comfortable while writing with this guy? That's the question you should ask yourself. And second: Do I like the work this provider has done? If you can check those two boxes - go for it.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: Simple. A Guitar, A midi-keyboard, a microphone, an interface and a macbook with logic. That is all you need to build great songs.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I've been making music for 20 years now. I started recording music with bands as an early teenager, started touring all of europe and with my work in the radio industry, I got more interested in the production side of music. It all came pretty natural, tbh.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: There's way too many. But I'd love to work with M83, Dua Lipa and Lewis Capaldi at one point.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: The most important one: Never "fix it in the mix"! If your demo lacks power, if your song lacks this great chorus - it's not a mixing-problem. Your song isn't just there. The most important thin in music production: write a damn good song. And everything else will fall into place. Never rely on gear, the mix or master.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: My main genres are: pop, indie pop/rock, rock, synth-pop, synthwave and new wave. But I worked on hip hop productions as well.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: Writing songs and melodies and producing drum tracks that blow you away.

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: I tend to think of myself a someone, who can find the sweet spot of your song. What is the big chorus? Where are the magic moments happening? Which parts could be left out? All that stuff.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: I work in three different places with different setups. At my home studio, I mainly write songs and program drums. In this day and age, you don't need bit studio setups anymore. I like to work with a limited setup, because too much gear, in my opinion, interferes with your creativity and holds you back. For podcast mastering, I work at a production spot at my radio station. And for mastering and referencing in general, I work at a professional recording and mastering studio with several other mixer and engineers, to cross-reference my work.

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: There's a large variety of very different styles and genres that inspire me. I love a good wall of sound as much as I love an intimate, lo-fi production. to me, it is all about the song and never a specific style or sound.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: There are mainly two things I do: I get requested a lot to write big chorus melodies, vocals and music. And on the other hand, I produce complete drum-tracks fitting to a specific song.
