Chloe Rona on SoundBetter

Firstly I am an independent artist, I have over 350,000 streams on Spotify alone in one year. From this, I learned to love Vocal Production, Sound Design and Mixing. I have a degree in Vocal Performance and a masters in Songwriting & Production. Now, I am working in TYe studio in Tileyard.

I started mixing, processing vocals and doing sound design because I had to teach myself quite quickly how to do things to the level I expected them to be. Because of this, I believe I will do the same for you!
I studied vocal performance for 4 years at BIMM, then went on to study Songwriting & Production at Tileyard Education, where I am currently working part time as studio assistant.

On top of singing and writing, I can also process, tune, comp vocals (specialising in female vocals, but can also process male), sound design, do production for adverts/showreels etc, and play the flute.

Interview with Chloe Rona

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: DJ Target's Grime Kids series. I did the sound design for this, I used to listen to Skepta, JME, Devlin etc. a lot when I was in high school, so working on this for DJ Target really was an honour!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm always working on my first love, my own artist project, writing for myself and multiple other people!

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Have a look/listen at their work Don't just see if it's good, also see if it's the sound you want for what you have in mind!

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: MacBook, Interface, Microphone, Monitors & some kind of solar powered charging station. I'd just have to make it work without headphones...being able to play music on a desert island from monitors outweighs the need for headphones!

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: Dark, Alternative R&B, with seasoning from a few other genres.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: Writing, Singing & Sound Design

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: My inspiration has come from many places. I grew up listening to a mix of genres, from R&B/Hip Hop, such as Outkast, Usher, Michael Jackson, Kanye West & Cassie, to Rock such as Architects, Paramore, Pink Floyd & Letlive.
