What's your typical work process?
we like to start with getting to know the artist. have them come in the studio for a chat before we start working. we ask what kind of sound the would like and we start thinking of ways to achieve said sound. recording starts with drums. after that eithe bass or guitar is recorded, depending on the preferences of the band. Sometimes we might record live too. after all recording is completed, we start to work on the mix. we both work on it, and when it's done we send a mix to the artist. we ask them for feedback so that we can improve upon our work. when the mixes have been approved, we start the mastering process. this can be done either on tape or digitally.
Tell us about your studio setup.
We use interfaces made by Focusrite. we use Cubase 5 as our DAW of choice. We also have equipment for tape mastering.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
I know Gerben loves Genesis. I am into bands like Megadeth. We both admire the production skills of Andy Sneap.
