Endorse David JulianA true pro. If you need a “one stop shop”, David does it all :) David has provided great material that brought my projects to the next level. Highly Recommended.
Dave produced a song I wrote with American Idol contestant kason Lester called Still So Tennessee (Available on SoundCloud)
Thanks to his interpretation, the song won the NSAI Nashville Chapter Challenge contest. Thanks Dave!
I have been fortunate to have worked with Dave many times over the years. He is reliable, friendly and out of this world talented. He can do anything musically you ask of him and it’s done professionally and delivered on time every time. I couldn’t recommend him more!
Interview with David Julian
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Country, Pop, Rock, Singer-Songwriter
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Working on tracks for co-writes with writers in Nashville. Also working on getting a song or two placed with the NFL for sync.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Think about what you want and what you want it to sound like and let's dot it!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: No comment.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 15 years.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I work with all kinds of artists.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Build the track in a way that it ebbs and flows and know when to layer sounds and when to use space.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My playing and production. I'm obsessive about sound.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A song has to live and breathe to make a connection. Over the years I have been able to help artists produce tracks that make their song the best it can be.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depends on the artist. Some people send me "work tapes" that are just acoustic guitar and vocal and I produce the entire track. One guy in Nashville hires me to just play guitar solos on his stuff.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I was signed to a label owned by a member of the Goo Goo Dolls and I toured the US, was on MTV, opened for bands like Bon Jovi, Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls. Once I stopped touring I bought most of my studio gear from the Goo Goo Dolls' studio as they were selling off some of their gear. It is top shelf and I have the ability to produce tracks that are radio ready.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Track production and instrumental work (guitars, bass, mandolin, banjo, keys).
