Damir is such a great producer! He cared about making the song better every step of the way and was meticulous with the details and getting the track to be the best it could be. Each component of the track turned out wonderful and Damir was so easy to work with. It's difficult to find a producer who can create a commercial/radio ready track, produce vocals, and mix and Damir did it all so well! I can't wait to work with him again!
Interview with Damirichi
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Over 15 years
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always back to your feelings. It should feels right even if the sound is not perfect. You could get the best production, biggest names on credits and it may sound perfect itself, but if the song idea doesn't catch you, doesn't make you feel strong emotions, it is all just wasting of time and money.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop music, indie music, electronic
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I guess my strongest skill is finding the right sound for the song. Go beyond clients expectations.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My musical vision.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process is simple. Getting demo, discussing general idea of the song and I start to create a demo. Sometimes it may take time to find the right idea, it is all part of this magical process. One song could have 3-4 different versions even genres until we get the right vibe and everyone is happy. Then I'm sending instrumental version of a song and waiting for a vocals. After I mix together it into a perfect song. 😎
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup is simple. I'm traveling a lot, so to make it work well, I had to minimize my equipment and I ended up with komplete kontrol keys, Casio piano, maschine mk3, pair of yamaha monitors, sennheiser 650 headphones, uad interface. Most important is my collection of high quality plugins and DAW Cubase, that gives my all flexibility to express my inspiration into the music.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm following many genres, musicians and producers. It could be some indie bands as Bon Iver or Sigur Ros, same time top charts music could inspire a lot (Bieber, Mars, Black Pink).
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My favourite and most common type of work is music production. I'm getting some vocal notes or veg music idea recorded on whatsapp for example and turn it into a full song. I do mixing as well, especially working with vocals because it is a big part of sonical and emotional experience.
