Award winning video game music producer, and cover artist. Berklee alumni. Experienced mixing and mastering engineer. Dedicated session saxophonist and sheet music engraver. Anything you want done, I can help you create it!
Hello! I'm Sean Schafianski. I am a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to music; I mix and master, record saxophone parts, produce albums, and transcribe, arrange, and engrave sheet music. I've been at this for over a decade and I'm always improving. My background is in classical saxophone, theory, and composition. I specialize in arranging jazz tunes and writing in the post-minimalist genre.
You can find my mixing and mastering demos on my Soundcloud (linked here) and one of my arrangement demo reels to get an idea of my arrangement style!

Interview with Sean Schafianski
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Last year I released an album of music from NieR Automata, arranged in the style of 20th century minimalist composers. I was the arranger and producer for the album and managed to wrangle some really great players to perform all the pieces!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Jazz arrangements of tunes from Animal Crossing
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital all the way. I have a smaller home studio - analog gear won't fit! Also I live in the desert - that gear gets hot!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to always be upfront about any info you request, and send you drafts/recordings in a very timely manner!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Collaboration! I love working with new people and getting to work with wildly different pieces of music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: When is the deadline? Rush Delivery? Style, tone (for sax recording)? Reference tracks?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Come into the project knowing your budget and don't be afraid to negotiate! We don't bite :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been at this for over a decade; I got my start doing remasters of video game music and posting them on YouTube in 2008. It was very much a hobby, something to do for fun. But now it's my living!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never mix by soloing instruments! They might sound amazing by themselves but then they might not fit in the mix as a whole.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Classical, Rock/Metal, and Jazz
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do a lot of mixing and mastering, as well as saxophone recording for arrangers. I've been doing more MIDI mockups as of late as well!
