My creative goals are simple: I want to work with quality humans who want to make the best art we can make in the moment. If you're building a team built on trust, integrity, quality and passion, look no further and LET'S WORK!!
Peace. I'm Garfield Adams, a California-based mixing engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in recording, mixing, mastering, production, writing and performing. As a producer, I have been heavily influenced by the sample-based textures and production techniques of hip-hop’s “golden era”. I credit Jay Dee (aka J Dilla) and DJ Quik for influencing my approach to production of soul and hip-hop, which can be heard on my debut, self-mixed and self-released LP titled “1st Things First”, with other mixing influences coming from tried and true greats like Dave Pensado, Russ Elevado, Jaycen Joshua, Manny Marroquin and Ian Boxill to name a few.
I have since become known for my keen ear and attention to detail, with many of my clients using descriptors like "spacious", "warm", "big" and my favorite "that sounds like a record". My most recent efforts are present on projects from Tiombe Lockhart ("She Has Risen", mixing/mastering), as well as Shafiq Husayn's sophomore solo release, "The Loop" (mixing) and Tommaso Cappellato's "Dancing Around Fire" (mixing).
