Interview with Alizia
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm proud of my song "Feels" because a lot of thought was put into that song and it's a process I will never forget.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My song "Wolf" and my song "Loving You".
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm pretty new to this website, so no.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog, it's more smooth.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise I will make your beat exactly how you want it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the fact that I can help people.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Some people ask "Why is it so important for it to be perfect?" My answer is, well, you can't have a bad backtrack. The backtrack is what sets the feel of the song.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm not going to just take a beat online and then make a couple little changes and claim it as my own.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: "Would you like anything added to the beat?"
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Choose the right provider for your song and remember, we're doing YOU the service, so don't be shy to be specific.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A laptop, microphone, a phone, charger, and headphones.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this for a little over 6 months.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Chill
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would LOVE to work with Charlie Puth. His knowledge of music is amazing and I love how passionate he is about it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: It's YOUR song. Don't make pleasing others your main goal. You won't get very far with that mindset and you'll eventually give up.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Chill R&B music mostly, but I can work with selected genres too.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Perfecting the beat and adding final touches.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring the vibe and feel of the song. Music touches everyone and I'm the one who makes sure the listeners can feel the emotions put into the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First, I try to imagine the vibe of the song. Once I have the vibe, I can work through the rest of the song pretty easily.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I only have a laptop, but I get the most out of it.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I would say Tommy Brown, Charlie Puth, Lauv, and Jon Bellion are my biggest inspirations. They are the ones that got me into music production.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I love to make beats for my clients. Any type of beat they want, they get.
