Process: I will do a deep dive into who you are as an artist and the things that are important to your music and your brand. We will also discuss your influences and the style you are going for. I am happy to provide ideas for song topics or we can discuss one that suits you, if you have one in mind. Typically, I do something I call a "word vomit," a technique that allows me to brain dump ideas onto paper, without judgement, based on the song topic and thesis. Then I will begin to craft either the melodies and the lyrics OR the lyrics, if you already have melody ideas in place.
Style: I come from a very educated background in writing. I take pride in using literary tools and techniques and tend to ensure my lyrics are both clever and digestible. I enjoy using rhymes, wordplay, similes, metaphors, puns, and double entendres. Influences include Eminem, Atmosphere, Jay Z, BANKS, James Taylor, Max Martin, Kanye West.
