Tiara Monet is an amazing vocalist / songwriter!!! Definitely a pleasure working with her!! She gets the job done and she is super professional. I definitely will be working with her again. If you’re looking for vocals on your song or a full song for that matter, I highly recommend Tiara.

Interview with Tiara Monet

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: I recommend Chris Doster AKA "Soda Pop" he is great songwriter and knows the world of Pop music.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: I worked on a few projects with RZA simultaneously, so I would say during that time, I learned a lot about production, and really physics of a song and was able to provide input vocally. I also was able to show my skills as a singer and writer

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: I am currently adding to my catalogue of music for placements and I am also working on a sophomore EP.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I don't have a real preference. Analog is continuous more natural sound and Digital is more directed and discrete. Both can work when used in the right space.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Quality Sound, bright ideas, and great work ethic!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The fact that I can create something from an imaginative state and have the physical power through voice and technical expertise to manifest it in this realm of existence. Its deep, its phenomenal and I love to hear the ideas on wax and see and hear the satisfaction of clients and/or fans!

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: 1. What are my musical influences? Music. However, to specifically break it down in a nutshell, anything form the era of the 70s-present. 2.Who have I worked with/what have I done? Within the past 5 years, I worked with Rza/ Wu Tang Clan as a backup vocalist, toured and performed in front of thousands, aided in the rebranding of the Chipotle franchise as a singer-songwriter alongside RZA with "Savor. Wavs" and performed on an internationally broadcasted awards show called the AMA's with John Legend. I've also been interviewed by dozens of published blogs and TV shows, written for and worked with billboard and grammy nominated producers, singers, writers and audio engineers and I've successfully funded and put out my own EP called "Hennessy." 3. Why should I pick you over them? I provide a style that compliments what you want and exceeds what you need.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Kindness gets taken for weakness. its unfortunate.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What is your budget, your goals, your timeframe, and what is your plan to drop said music!

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: I would say know what you want but be open minded on how to get there. Be willing to share your ideas and expand on them with other creditable sources. (ME)

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My laptop, headphones, macbook, solar powered battery supply, and a knife

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I began as a cover artist performing where I really began getting a name. I started singing back up for major artists and then segwayed myself as a solo artist and songwriter when I felt I had enough game to go on my own. Ive been in the music industry since I was a a teenager, so about 10 years.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: If I would be a playlist, you would hear, R&B-Neo Soul peppered with Hip Hop a dash of Funk Jazz and a splash of Pop

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Pharell and Timbaland. Simply put; they are musical geniuses with much knowledge of music that can be obtained and actually performed.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Come prepared, let it flow and mix as you go.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I naturally lean towards R&B-Soul like an Ari Lennox, H.E.R type vibe. But lately I've really been in my more fun Nicki- Rihanna, Beyonce attitude.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My range. I go from Soprano to Tenor and sometimes Baritone on a good day. Its crazy. I also take pride in my ability to really invoke emotion through the sound and lyrics. Which to me is the soul of music.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I would say my power of emotion through my melodies, harmonies, lyrics and vocal arrangements. Depending on how deep the lyrics may be and the tempo of the song, is how I determine what will go where and how it will sound.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I generally began by first hearing the beat (or if i'm writing w/o any production I come up with a melody). I like to record about 3 different melodies and then write. I freestyle mostly and then go back in to polish up any lines that need loose ends tied.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have access to studios across LA, Atlanta, and New York, but find comfort in my own home studio where I use the Apollo Twin MKII interface over logic pro x and protools software. I find that the black blue bottle Mic handles substantial sound quality and I use Komplete 11 for any plug ins I need for co-production.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I have been heavily influenced by modern producers and artist such as Timbaland and Missy Elliot, Beyonce, Aaliyah, Pharell, Kanye West, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu to more classic artist such as Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Prince, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Parliament, John Coltrane. I am a student of music so I study genres from Rock, Country, Pop, Alternative, Gospel, R&B, Hip Hop, Blues, Soul and Classical.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: My main objective is songwriting and vocal production and arrangement.
