Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Got my start as a songwriter for Myspace Music in Los Angeles in 2010, Moved to Austin, TX starting playing live gigs downtown and around Texas. Working in the Studio with a lot artists around here and abroad.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Bright, Melodic, Spacey, but Deep 808.. unorthodox percussion.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Pierre Bourne because I feel like he understands what's going on 6 months from now versus what's cool today.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use midi, loops, and whatever else you can find and incorporate them into your sound. All the great producers were resourceful, not savants.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: R&B, Hip Hop, Acoustic Soul, Live Band cuts.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Observing/Identifying what listeners respond positively to, as well as quality accountability.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring an immersive experience for the listener versus just another song. Texture and emotion. Dynamic.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually always start with a melody and then drums. I mix as I go. Start humming melodies, record the ones I like. Identify the vibe of the song/melody. Write lyrics that fit (easy for listener to sing along). Track vocals. mix. master.
