Epicworld on SoundBetter

Tenor vocals with textures like Jack's Mannequin, Cat Stevens.

I'm a singer-songwriter and topline specialist blending the worlds of electronic and acoustic music.
My style draws from the emotional storytelling of Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard, the pop precision of Ryan Tedder, and the innovative edge of Jon Bellion. I specialize in discovering unique melodies and writing lyrics that breathe with the track.

I’ve been creating music since I was five - starting with piano, then self-teaching myself guitar in high school. Today, I write and record vocals remotely for producers and artists worldwide, and perform live across British Columbia as I grow a performance business based in the Okanagan.

Whether you need an emotive vocal, a fresh topline, or co-writing support to bring your song to life—I'm here to collaborate and create something real.

Let’s make something powerful together.

Interview with Epicworld

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: "When The World Falls Apart" with Holmzen. I wrote lyrics & sang vocals for the project. I'm especially proud of it, because the creation process felt like hitting my head against the wall, trying to figure out what direction to take the piece. When I finally gave up, that's when the world falling apart concept tapped in. This song was the first official remote recording project I did as well. I recorded in a cement house of my friends down in Melaque, Mexico.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am currently working on managing music distribution for my 15 year old cousin, "Young$paz". I'm giving him the strategies I wish I knew when I was his age.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not Yet.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital - Computationally, you can achieve unquantifiable more due to data, hardware, and AI integration.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is to deliver emotionally impactful, high-quality music that’s authentic to your vision and professionally produced to stand out every time. If I don't have the resources to fulfil the vision, I'll point you in the direction I suspect you'll find it in.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The part I like the most about my job is that it brings me the highest form of excitement out of anything in life. Focusing on a medium that allows me to utilize a creative faculty that comes with ease to me, and adds so much value to other people is the greatest gift.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: I get asked "What do you think about this?" often. I usually respond with how the point of conversation is making me feel, along with strategies that could guide that feeling in the direction that is hoped.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I think the biggest misconception about what I do, is: People think you just "make music" or "press buttons" - when in reality, I'm orchestrating 100's to 1000's of technical elements strategically, to demonstrate the capturing of a shared human experience. What's often missed is the emotional intelligence involved to capture and properly present a feeling. That requires tuning into raw human emotion by knowing how to use EQs, compressors, harmonies, word phrasing, microphone placement, and more. Listeners hear 3 minutes, but I may have spent 2 days sculpting the string section alone. The mental load of juggling multiple hats is missed a lot too. I'm a songwriter, producer, engineer, creative director, brand manager, sometimes I'm even a therapist - all in one. It’s not “just music”; it’s a business, a performance, and an identity. People might see a release on Spotify and think, “Nice new song!” — but they don’t see the 100+ hours behind the writing, tracking, editing, mixing, feedback cycles, branding assets, and strategy just to launch one track. It requires strategic foresight. I want to build a long-term catalog, audience journey, and revenue stream, not just "make cool songs." The misconception is that people think I'm playing guitar hero, when it's more like playing chess.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: If we were to surpass your wildest goals over the next month and you called me right now, what would you be telling me you're thankful for having accomplished?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: The more you as a creator, are able to define a concept or idea that you are looking for, like bringing specific song inspirations that match the rhythm, style, lyric writing, mixing or other things your'e looking for - the better your product can be made with someone like me. Define specific goals, and shoot for a minimum viable product instead of shooting for perfection.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: 1. Chat GPT. 2. Protein Filled Cinnamon Cupcakes (It's not gear, but they're an essential). 3. The Youtuber MrBeast's Emergency Survival Island Kit (idk what's in there, but it should keep me alive). 4. SM7-B Microphone + Interface. 5. Laptop equipped with Illenium's DAW production templates.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I began playing piano when I was 5 years old, and was in piano lessons for 10 years. I taught myself guitar in highschool. I have not had a formal career path or university education. I am self-taught in the workings of each DAW that I use. I am currently studying computer science (CS50, Python & LLM's) to keep my mind sharp, and build skill in an industry separate from music.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: EDM, folk writing (Ed Sheeran's early music), with cinematic inputs and sounds. Wide outdoor reverb sounds, and unique arpeggiators to carry rhythm. Rhythm dependent on the theme, typically hip-hop inspired.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: ILL MIND PRODUCER: I've wanted to work with Ill Mind (Ramon) since 2022 when we met at the launch party for Gary Vee's OG VeeCon in Minneapolis. The diversity of artistry that he demonstrates will be iconic to blend my sound with.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Instead of continuing to add more and more elements, see if you can create the right audio space by tuning a small amount of distinct elements.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Pop music, alternative pop music. Cinematic Instrumentals.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Hearing a variety of different song inspiration pieces, and imagining and creating a new piece of music that is structured with elements of the inspiration.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring strong melody ideas and harmonizing options.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Style 1: Begin with topic of inspiration, write lyrics and melody with guitar/piano. Once song is 50% written, Create a beat in a DAW (FL Studio). Then, complete lyric writing and beat production in DAW. Style 2: Begin creating a beat/instrumental in DAW (FL Studio) based on inspiration based on theme or emotion). Once beat feels good, write lyrics that enhance the instrumental

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I am currently producing in FL Studios, using an M-Audio Interface, and an Audio Technica Microphone.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Inspired by the production routine of Jeff Johnson, Artistry and mixing of Illenium, Unique characterizing of songs by Jon Bellion, to name a few. The raw edge that the artist NF produces in his work has a deep root on my approach.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Studio Production, Songwriting and Personal Song Projects
