Multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer based in northern Italy. I'm proficient in Pop, Rock and Heavy Metal production as well as in Classic and Soundtrack scoring. I have worked on countless albums over the years. Check out my playlist to find out which ones.
I am a session keyboardist/pianist and drummer, as well as an active producer and sound engineer. I've worked on countless albums over the years from Rock to Heavy metal, from Pop to TV/Movie soundtracks.
I am well known for my speed in composing/arranging duties. I'm the former member and founder of well known metal acts Temperance and Bejelit and I'm the Timo Tolkki's Avalon project's drummer and keyboardsplayer/composer/arranger.
After my classical piano and composition studies I switched to Rock music as A drummer and bass player as well.
I graduated in Ancient Music History in Bologna and some years later in Music Production at Oxford University.
I won a Sound Engineering scholarship at the renowed Milan based Accademia del Suono.
For more than 12 years I have managed one of the largest recording facilities in northern Italy (Music Ink Studios).

Interview with Giulio Capone
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, absolutely! I would recommend Alberto Melinato and Alessandro Jacobi for their inspiring work and for their right attitude.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I think it is a meaningless question since each of the two technologies brings pro and cons. I love the sound and feeling of the analog equipment but I can't deny I use a lot of digital stuff as well a lot of software stuff. For a composer it's a priceless pro to have an entire orchestra in a single laptop.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Fast, imaginative, flexible but commercial as needed.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I always try to compose a song in a single step, to maintain some cohesion. I don't think it's a good method to work on some parts, then stop and then go back in an endless process.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on any kind of music, from pop to metal, from classical to EDM.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My pros are speed and imagination.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have two different setup. I have a mobile workstation for compose and arrange, powered by a Steinberg Cubase D.A.W. and several VSTi and library I usually work with to create my sound. Then I own a recording studio for tracking and mixing duties equipped with an AVID Pro Tools workstation and featuring high end hardware such as Avalon, SSL, Audio Technica, Focusrite and much more.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Always the same: "I'll be back with some new songs in a few hours". That's my "superpower": to deliver songs faster than anyone and keeping them fresh and strong. If you don't believe just contact me eheh.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: In my opinion I can bring a strong mixture of different influences to a song, a strong harmonic structure, power, ethnic sounds and very melodic and easy listening themes.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm proud and very critic to every project I've worked on. I think it's pretty normal to feel something's missing when I listen to a song I've composed months or years ago. I would say I'm pretty proud of my composing and arranging job in the first two Moonlight Haze album. That's why, with this band, I've been free to express myself in the best way. There was no pressure, no boundaries, no path to follow. Just composing music freely and guided just by immagination.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am mainly a keyboardist / pianist and composer. I have a long experience as a session musician in studio and I'm well known in the Heavy Metal music business for my career as drummer with band such as Moonlight Haze, Bejelit and Temperance. I'm a sound engineer as well and I'm proficient in tracking and editing processes as well as in mixing and mastering works.
