Frederico Sawabini is songwriter, producer, arranger, lyricist, pianist, guitarist and singer. My songs and soundtracks have beautiful melodies, very significant lyrics and strong beats. Their main styles are orchestral and electronic tracks, rock, blues, pop ballads and Brazilian music. They fit perfectly into movies, TV, games, ads, etc

Interview with Frederico Sawabini

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am proud of my soundtrack albums called No Limite and No Fim da Estrada, all available at Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Google Play and Amazon. In May 11th, I will launch my album Princess Manuela with 10 tracks about the theme of fantasy.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am composing every week to increase my portfolio of tracks to be licensed at movies, tv series, games, etc. I have 3 albums of 10 tracks each to be launched every 3 months.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Junior Castanheira, he is an excellent bass player, producer, mixing and mastering engineer. He has a professional studio at Porto in Portugal.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Depend on the project.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Commitment with deadline, quality and effort to provide the best!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Music is my soul, I love composing and transforming ideas in projects.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: I am starting on the music industry, so up to now, my music was licensed thru Music Libraries without direct contact with me.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: It did not happen yet.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I want to make a taylor made product to my clients, so before starting a project, I will need to know exactly what the customer is looking for, what should exceed their expectations, what delights them!

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: I worked all many years as Commercial and General Manager, so I know exactly the importance of being committed with customer's demand and always try to exceed all expectations. I am very disciplined with the excellance on delivery. This is CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: During the Covid19, we are all on a desert island, so my keyboard, electric guitar, computer, Logic Pro and audio interface are enough to me.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I worked in the Shipping (Maritime Industry) for almost 30 years, when I became General Manager of the largest Shipping Agency in Brazil. Since the beginning I used to compose some songs a year, as a hobby. In 2010, I recorded a professional DVD of my best songs with excellent musicians and singers to celebrate 25 years as songwriter . In 2018 I left my job and since then I have been fully dedicated on writing new songs and soundtracks, as well as use my past experience as executive to do all business by myself. Thus, I am responsible for registering my music at a Brazilian PRO, I signed a contract with a Distributor and I upload my music at main Music Libraries in the world. I have already licensed some tracks in 7 countries and I am confident that my music will fit very well on future movies, tv series and games projects very soon.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Since I was a kid, I listened at home classical music, progressive rock and Brazilian bossa nova from my family. Then, those types of music together with hard rock, jazz, pop and world music have influenced my style. At present, I am more involved on writing orchestral tracks to audiovisual market like cinema, tv, games, etc.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: The main artists involved with a movie production.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: I use the articulation mode in the Logic Pro, among other things, to give dynamic and provide more realistic sound of strings in an orchestral track.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Orchestral tracks, rock and ballad songs.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: I am very confident, disciplined and perseverant. Musically speaking, my strongest skill is writing and arranging.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: My songs usually have beautiful melodies, strong beat and deep lyrics, combining all things in a powerful message to the audience.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I used to create a new song or soundtrack every 5 days, sometimes playing relaxed at piano or acoustic guitar, sometimes the melody come to my mind and immediately I record at my mobile phone, in order to work on it later on. The orchestral tracks, I create an introduction idea in the piano and then I imagine the instruments to combine with and the arrangement is developed step by step like a puzzle. When creating a song, usually I make the melody and lyrics simultaneously.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a home studio with keyboard connected to my Mac Mini, my DAW is Logic Pro X and focusrite 3rd generation as audio interface.

  44. A: My main work is composing and arranging a song or soundtrack.
