Hello, SHEEN here! I'm a professional singer/songwriter and recording artist based in Kingston, Jamaica. I have spent the last 10 years recording and writing pop, R&B, and Reggae, as well as a variety of different genres. I have been mentored by Grammy Award-winning producer Fernando Garibay, as well as International Grammy-winning Artist Shaggy.

Interview with SHEEN
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’ve worked on projects where I handled both vocal production and overall sound direction. I’m especially proud of those because I was able to shape the song from idea to final product, ensuring it connected emotionally and sounded professional.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m currently working on new productions, collaborations, and developing my sound further as both an artist and producer.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: https://soundbetter.com/profiles/77727-siera-mollakuqe#profile-profile She is my friend, and she was the one who put me on to this website, with amazing vocals and spirit.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital—for flexibility, efficiency, and the ability to create without limits.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To deliver quality work, stay professional, and respect your vision while adding value to your sound.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Helping artists bring their ideas to life and hearing a song evolve from a concept into something real.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Clients often ask how long a project will take. My answer: it depends on the scope, but I always aim for quality while respecting deadlines.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s just technical. Music production is deeply creative and emotional—it’s about shaping a feeling, not just sound.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask about their vision, references, timeline, and what they want the final product to feel like.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who understands your vision and communicates clearly. Skill matters, but connection and trust are just as important.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, audio interface, microphone, headphones, and a MIDI controller.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been involved in music for several years, starting with recording and evolving into full production and songwriting. Over time, I’ve built my sound and worked with various artists to refine my craft.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is smooth, expressive, and rooted in authenticity. I focus on clean production with strong melodic elements and a natural vibe.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with artists who are passionate and open to collaboration—those who value creativity and are willing to build something meaningful.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Focus on the emotion first. A technically perfect track means nothing if it doesn’t feel right.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: mainly work within reggae, dancehall, and Afro-influenced sounds, but I’m versatile and comfortable working across multiple genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is vocal production—bringing out the best performance in a track and shaping it into something powerful and memorable.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I would say i bring emotion, clarity, and direction. Whether it’s through melodies, vocal tone, or arrangement, I focus on making the song feel authentic and impactful.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by understanding the artist’s vision, then move into production or vocal arrangement. From there, I refine the sound, add creative elements, and finalize with mixing touches to ensure the track connects emotionally and sonically.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup is built for professional vocal recording and high-quality production. I use industry-standard DAWs, studio monitors, and microphones that allow me to capture clean, expressive vocals and deliver polished mixes.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by artists and producers who bring authenticity and innovation—people who stay true to their sound while pushing boundaries. I admire creatives who blend genres and create timeless music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I primarily work on vocal production, songwriting, and full music production. This includes creating instrumentals, recording vocals, arranging harmonies, and delivering a polished, release-ready sound.
