The only guy in the whole of Glastonbury festival to put on an unplugged performance when the power went down in 2014. It kept raining and I kept singing - They wrote about it in the NME as one of the top 10 things about Glastonbury that year.
I am a highly experienced Singer, Guitarist (electric & acoustic) & Songwriter with over 10 years of studio & live experience. I have a professional home studio where I record vocal and guitar sessions remotely and am available to travel if necessary.
I strive to think outside the box and thrive once I get there. My voice has been described as being akin to "Faces" Rod Stewart, Kurt Cobain and Bruce Springsteen and, guitar-wise, I'm a big lover of vintage analogue pedals and amps and have a nice collection of vintage Gibsons; as-well as a lovely sounding old Martin acoustic.
In recent years with my band Broken Bones Matilda I've recorded with Producers / Engineers: Tom Fuller, Matt Lawrence & Rob Ellis. I practically live on the road in summer, having recently supported Texas, Ward Thomas & KT Tunstall, and performed at UK festivals Glastonbury, Carfest, Wilderness and Pub in the Park to name a few.
My constant love & anchor throughout my career has been songwriting and here is a lovely quote by the good people @anrfacotry that sums it up nicely:
"If you have ever wondered what it would sound like if Nick Cave wrote songs for Fleetwood Mac, the answer might just lie in Broken Bones Matilda"

Sams grungy, rough voice gave my pop duet song an authentic character. He worked on the project highly motivated and gave me the opportunity to openly discuss my requirements with him. I very much enjoyed working with him, because he did not only communicate clearly, but also delivered what we discussed in a timely manner. Thumbs up!
Sam is the guy you've been looking for. He will add the kind of exciting energy and authenticity to your music that cannot be forced or manufactured. He's an extremely intuitive and bright musician with stellar skills on guitar, vocals and songwriting. I've collaborated and watched him work for almost 10 years and always look forward to any opportunity to create with the genuinely lovely human being that is Sam Gotley.
I have worked with Sam on numerous projects in both England and Los Angeles. My most noteworthy story is a time when we holed up in a studio in LA at 8pm and knocked out an entire 30 min EP in a single night: wrote, recorded, mixed, produced, everything all in one night, finishing it up while the sun rose! You’re only going to pull that off if you’re working with someone is a true professional and rock star at the same time. Sam was exceptional in his ability to quickly write guitar and vocal parts to an existing track, or something new for me to work off of. And then, directly after writi
I was lucky enough to meet Sam a few years back at a writing camp and was blown away at his talent for piecing a song together. Literally had one of the funniest and laid back sessions. But there was still such an efficiency to his work we knocked out the song and had fun in the process that’s a win win for me. Anyone lucky enough to work with Sam will not be disappointed at the versatility and pure joy he brings to the room.
