Guitarist for one of the biggest TV shows in Germany called "SING MEINEN SONG" since 2014 (500 songs recorded) I am also a singer (Live, session, studio, TV), music producer and songwriter. Played on more than 500 songs on albums for this TV show and recorded 3 albums under my own name, you can find my music on APPLE or SPOTIFY.
My sound is somewhere between pop, rock, country and soul. I'm not a metal guitarist and not a jazz player either, but I can work in those fields if it's not too specific.
I'm good at adding emotion to your track and framing the vocals with a lot of sensitivity. I have played over 1000 songs with my guitar tracks and gained a lot of experience.

Markus is easily one of the best guitarists I know. His sensitivity combined with taste makes him an exceptional studio musician. His sounds are always fantastic, his feel is excellent and with his input he enriches every production. Because he is also an excellent singer, he understands exactly which guitar part is useful for the song. I enjoy working with him every time.
I have been working with Markus on numerous projects both live and studio. Markus is a truly outstanding guitar player with a unique taste, style and sound. His playing always offers that special "vibe" we are all looking for. He is also very detailed in picking the right amp, the right microphone and the right reverb both on electric and acoustic guitar. He never "shows off" too much, never uses bendings or tappings "just because he can" but always finds the right way to making the song shine with his inspiriation.
Interview with Markus Vollmer
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I play guitar since I am 16. My parents had a band and they played Country music at the army bases. I got in touch with American country pop and rock and had my own country-rock band. Later I would study Jazz and popular music in Frankfurt and played some jazz and big band shows. I recorded 3 albums under my name (my latest album is called BROTHERS OF CINTSA) and did much composing and studio sessions. I got a job in a TV show where I fly every year since 2014 to South Africa to record a live show with seven German pop stars called SING MEINEN SONG. Every year we produce, arrange and record 49 songs and then play them live on the set in SA.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think I can read the emotion of a song and love to find the right sounds to make a track better. I have a good sense for melody and chord movement.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to fill it with life and one of my main goals is to catch the right emotion for he song. In every song you can find a key to make it better, I am looking for those spots even when the right thing is to play nothing ;). I try to understand the composer and find the right tone and maybe I have some ideas the client didn't think about,.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I like good guitar tones. I love bluesy stuff like Clapton, Black Keys. I like singer/songwriter like Jackson Browne and some Nashville productions like Hush Kids, Kacey Musgraves. I also like Radiohead and electronic stuff.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the time I get a track or stems to add my guitar parts. The client has an idea what it should sound like and I do my best to find the right tones and emotions. So, distance doesn't matter anymore, I can send my parts everywhere in the world.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I write and produce songs, my own stuff and music for others. I track guitars for clients and send it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Its a small Studio with a big room where I can track bands or a drums set. I don't have a mixing desk but I can record up t 16 track with Universal Audio Equipment and preamps. Some good mics and very much guitars. All kinds of guitars, acoustic, baritone, classical, Nashville tuning, open tunings, I do much slide stuff, mandola, mandolin, banjo and two basses. Fender Amps and some cabinets and endless effect pedals.
