Jaro on SoundBetter

Indie-Pop, Pop-Rock, Metalcore... These are the genres I'm passionate about! With 10 years of production experience and my guitar expertise I will make your music shine!

About me:

Hey, my name is Jaro.
I started playing the guitar at the age of 12. Different from most other guitarists I learned to play the electric guitar first, because back then Rock and Metalcore were my passion. Inspired by people on Youtube, who had a great guitar sound without the use of big, expensive amps I entered the realm of music production. First I was obsessed with getting my guitar recordings to sound as good as my idols on Youtube.
After I reached that goal I wanted to be able to record complete songs only using my guitar and PC. Reaching this goal took quite a while, but after a few years I got to a point where I was proud of my work.

As I grew older, I got more interested in other genres. Pop-Rock (e.g. The 1975) and Indie-Pop (e.g. EDEN, Lauv, Jeremy Zucker) became my new passion. Production-wise many things I learned in my Metalcore times applied here to, but there were also many new things to learn.

A few years went by and as I got very comfortable with these genres too, I created the brand "beatsnotfound" and started selling Guitar-Trap Beats in my freetime.

As I am writing this, I'm starting my new journey: I want to write, produce, mix and master songs for other people, who share a passion in the same genres as I do.

So let's create music together!

My man has been one of the most professional artists/producers I've had the pleasure to work with. His broad array of music knowledge and experience gives him the capability to provide the sounds I was needing. Great return time, customer experience and product.

Interview with Jaro

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Timo_Drums just started out on this platform, too. He's an incredible drummer!

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: My beat "Snow" does really well, which I'm pretty proud of.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: While I keep working on new beats for beatsnotfound, I'm also very invested in a solo project I started a while ago!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I exclusively work digital when it comes to mixing. With the sheer amount of high quality plugins at my hands I never feel like I'm missing out on something. Nevertheless, turning real knobs can be very satisfying!

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will always give my best to deliver a result that my clients and myself are more than satisfied with!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The freedom and how varied the projects are. But most importantly that I get to share my passion with other like-minded people!

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Hm, nothing specific. Most interactions are pretty different from one another, which makes this very interesting!

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I feel like most people have no idea how complex audio production and mixing are. It is so much more than just setting the levels of the inidividual tracks!

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: How they expect me to improve their production and which emotion they want to convey with their song.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Give people like me, who aren't at the top recommendation list, a chance! There are many unknown artists, who are just as skilled or even better than the so called professionals.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Audient ID14, Fender Telecaster, my PC, a random MIDI keyboard and my Yamaha HS7. That would be more than enough!

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: You can read about my career path in the "about me" section above. But I've been playing guitar for 12 years and started learning music production about 10 years ago.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: I'd describe my style as modern and heartfelt.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I'm open to work with anybody, really. As long as we share a passion in similar genres!

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Don't overdo it. Sometimes adding too much can really mess with the initial idea.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Nowadays, I usually work on Indie-Pop (e.g. EDEN, Jeremy Zucker, Lauv, brakence) and Indie-Rock (e.g. The 1975, The Japanese House). But I also love working on Metalcore stuff or even combining Metalcore and Pop, kinda like BMTH did in their latest releases.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Coming up with unique melodies.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I'm definitely not the best guitar player, but I feel like I can create some really interesting and heartfelt guitar arrangements. Combined with my knowledge in production I can really make a song shine!

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I usually just open up a guitar patch, decide for a BPM and start experimenting. I love creating an interesting interplay between two different guitar melodies!

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: To record my American Fender Telecaster I use the Audient ID14, which keeps impressing me everytime I record guitar or vocal tracks. Nowadays, my DAW of choice is Studio One 4 Pro, because in my opinion it has a great balance between creative capabilities and mixing workflow. To monitor my mixes I use a pair of Yamaha HS7 with an Adam Sub7. I also accumulated a big sample library as well as a big collection of virtual instruments and plugins over the years.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Big inspirations have been artists like EDEN and Lauv, but also the new releases of Bring me the Horizon, who really stepped up their production the last few years. I'm also a big fan of the 80s vibe in the productions of The 1975 and The Japanese House!

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Up to this point, I mostly did whole instrumental productions for artists and mixing/mastering jobs every now and then. But I'm also excited to improve other people's productions with my guitar arrangements!
