    Ti scrivo Da Londra.
Mi hai insegnato un sacco di cose. Abbiamo composto tante canzoni insieme. Take care Nic.

Interview with Nico Forzati

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I am working on projects of hip-hop artists.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: I love both. I consider the results obtained by working ITB very valid.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: Take their music to the next level.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: I love working ITB. I have been a ProTools user for many years, and I also like to use Logic, Reason and Ableton Live. I have a Focusrite Saffire PRO soundcard and some great third-party plugins.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Only my acoustic guitar because... there isn't electricity. ;-)

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: I like to ask if they have any specific deadlines and also for reference tracks and rough mixes

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Please provide references for a specific sound you are hoping to achieve. A production can go many different directions and it's best for me to understand what you are looking for so we are both happy.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: From the age of 12 I began play guitar and later studied music production and technologies at Music Academy of Bari (Italy). I have worked at some music school as guitar teacher and music production teacher. I also worked at some recording studios as recording, mixing and mastering engineer.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: I work on a lot of Electronic musi, Indie-rock music and Acoustic music.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: I bring a unique perspective to any given song. I try to make new sounds and not scared to record every idea to see what it does for a song.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: When it comes to making a record I typically listen to a band or artists previous work/live performance to see what the vibe is and what they have/haven't done. When it comes to a mix I would ask the artist to send me references if they are digging another artists sound. I would also listen to the rough mix that is sent to hear if there is anything specific or cool that i would want to keep in my mix.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: There are so many artists and other professionals that inspire me and push me to become a better Mixer/Engineer. No matter the genre i can fine something special that will catch my ear,

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Through SoundBetter my work is Mixing, Mastering, Tuning and some editing. At my studio I'm Producing, Engineering, Mixing and Mastering full projects.
