Stephen Scaccia

Professional Vocalist/YouTuber

Stephen Scaccia on SoundBetter

Hi! My name is Stephen Scaccia. I am a 28-year-old professional pop singer, recording artist, and YouTuber from Vancouver. I have been singing professionally for 12 years now, having performed with Michael Buble on several occasions. My voice has earned over 50,000 subscribers on YouTube! I cannot wait to lend my voice to your project!

Having earned over 50,000 subscribers on YouTube with my voice, I am no stranger to recording a variety of different genres of music for my online family. My vocals are often compared to John Legend, Michael Buble, and a Disney prince. However, my voice has the versatility within the pop sphere to add an experienced touch to your project. I trained privately as a vocalist for over 10 years, and have been singing and recording professionally since 2006. In fact, Mariah Carey herself has reacted positively online to my cover of her song "Hero" back in 2018! If you are interested in seeing the quality of my work, please visit my YouTube page at www.youtube.com/c/stephenscaccia. I am also available on Spotify and Apple Music under Stephen Scaccia, where I have released some original works as well!

I cannot wait to lend my voice to future projects, because I feel like collaborations are the most exciting way for artists to mutually grow into who they are.

Interview with Stephen Scaccia

  1. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  2. A: The biggest misconception about what I do as a professional singer and YouTuber specifically is how easy or difficult it is. I remember someone in my younger years comparing what I wanted to do for a living as just partaking in a hobby. However, there is a real business side of things, and musicians (on and off YouTube) work very hard at what they do, simply because they want so badly to make a living doing what they love the most.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: I ask clients as many details about the project as I can. For example, I ask what kind of vibe they are looking for on the audio, and possibly for a reference so I have inspiration to draw from. I typically also ask for a clear deadline, and try to get a sense of what their end goal is for that project. Often times, what a person intends to do with a project will typically change how the provider works on it.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Always communicate honestly and openly with the providers you are looking to work with. Try to be completely clear about what you are looking for and what your expectations are, so that the provider can provide the right product for you! If what you are asking for is not necessarily in the provider's wheelhouse, it's important to determine that early so that potential other references can be provided. As a provider, I am very versatile. However, should I ever come across something that I know I would not be able to put my best foot forward on, nothing would make me unhappier than upsetting a client and producing mediocre results. That, ultimately, is what is most important to me!

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: A MacBook with my software (Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro), recording mic, camera, cell phone and internet connection.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I have been a professional singer since I was 15 years old, when I had my first wedding gig. I am 28 now, so I've been at this for 13 years. I started purely out of a love for singing, and understanding that I had a raw affinity towards it that I wanted to hone and grow from.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: My style is very pop, but with a bright shimmer to my voice that makes people feel happy. Sometimes, my YouTube subscribers refer to me as a pop Disney Prince, which I consider a compliment, because my voice brings that warmth to whatever I'm singing.

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: I would love to work with either Sara Bareilles, Mariah Carey, or John Legend. These three artists are not only spectacular singers, but phenomenal songwriters as well. Their styles have very much influenced the way I sing. I would give anything to get to work with one of these three

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Always embrace rawness and authenticity of what you bring, because that will be what makes you unique from other musicians.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: I usually work on a lot of different covers, and original music, within the very broad pop music genre. My voice, however, is versatile enough to branch out into other genres.

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: My strongest skill is my singing ability, for sure!

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: As a professional singer, one of my greatest strengths is the ability to captivate the feelings and emotions of whatever I am singing, combined with a strong technique and smooth tone. The number one priority of music, in my opinion, is to make people feel things, and that is my number one priority as well.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: I often love to work very raw, recording video and audio at the exact same time so that the take is actually completely live. However, depending on the project, I am completely able to record audio separately and in separate takes. My work process is efficient, but flexible!

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: I have a proper recording mic with pop shield, and I record with Logic Pro X software, and contain the Izotope Nectar 3 plugin, which is often what I use to mix my vocals. However, I can provide dry vocals if that is what you prefer. Specific links to the products I use (mic etc), are available upon request. I film video with a Nikon D7000 DSLR if video is required!

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: I am very inspired by Kurt Hugo Schneider, John Legend, and Matt Bloyd just to name a few.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: I most commonly provide vocals and/or YouTube videos to my clients upon hire and request. I can provide clean, strong vocals for a cover or original song!
