I am a veteran artist who works with people to be their best!
"Singer at Large" and recording artist Johnny J. Blair is a veteran music producer versed in Americana, baroque pop, psychedelia, punk/new wave, British Invasion-style rock, and “old school” soul/gospel, with influences ranging from The Beach Boys to David Bowie. As a producer, Blair combines time-tested organic approaches with the best of technology, role-modeling T-Bone Burnett, George Martin, Chris Thomas, and Tony Visconti. Blair’s solo recordings have reached a global audience, with kudos from Brian Wilson, who called Blair “a virtuoso.” Goldmine Magazine described Blair’s music as "pop music with a conscience" while Spotlight Magazine dubbed him "the Harry Houdini of rock'n'roll" for his ongoing "escape from typecasts." Blair also worked with (the late) Davy Jones of The Monkees, producing and performing on most of his projects from 1993-2012 (including pre-production on JUSTUS, the 1997 Monkees reunion album). Blair has also recorded with John Bechdel (Killing Joke, Ministry), Mike Garson (David Bowie), Prairie Prince (Todd Rundgren, The Tubes), Mike Roe (The 77s), and Chris von Sneidern.
