Interview with Sapir Amar

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Blue Dreams - the song have reached over 48 millions of streams. I wrote the lyrics and melody, recorded the vocals and produced them in my studio in Israel and sent it back to the producers in Mexico and song became a huge success.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I have multiple projects that I'm working on this year and will be released very soon. These are also electronic tracks. I have released recently a song called 'Burning', the remixes got also released and very soon the music video of that song will be released too.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: At the moment no.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. It's been done faster.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To provide a high quality vocals with it's lyrics and melody that will not only be in a high quality but also will fit the track in a way that works, a song that will have a very high potential to work in the electronic scene. If something doesn't feel like enough fit for me I keep working at it until I find the right feeling.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The whole creation part. I love being in the studio and create. I love singing and expressing my self and my emotions just through the music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I can provide them a song in their genre.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People don't fully understand all the work that an artist has and they often time think it's easy.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: If they have any concept in mind, to send me references and the track. I do work with a contract and terms needs to be discussed.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To have a good production, understanding the importance of the sound, to check the production in every device to insure the best quality and experience for the listener no matter where they are listening from.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Microphone, headphones, piano or a digital keyboard, a laptop with a recording software.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been doing music for over 20 years now. 7 years ago I've participated on a TV show 'The Voice' and have been releasing music with dj's and producers ever since.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Powerful, soulful and energetic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Dj snake, Tiesto, Martin Garrix. They have a phenomenal level of production and sound.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The sound is very important, if not the most important. A production doesn't necessary has to have a lot of instruments, but it's better to use a few and develop each instrument's sound.

A: Electronic music
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Singing and writing songs.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Vocals, lyrics with an authentic story, melody and a lot of emotion.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually receive a track from the producer and start to write the lyrics and melody on top of it, then I go to the studio to record the main vocal and build the harmonies arrangement. The other way I work if I do it without a track, I write the lyrics and melody from scratch and then go to record the Acapella alone and send it to the producer to build the production around the voice.

A: I record in different top recording studios around the world with the best sound and equipment.
